This is gay of me to ask but why do people think the word "would've", is the result of contracting "would" and "of" and vice versa? It makes no sense. "Of" is a 2 letter word anyway, the whole point of contractions is to combine two words like "would" and "have" and shorten it into "would've". Gay grammar rant over, downvote me.
