Unpopular Opinion: Anthony's comedic genius in the past is more than enough to redeem him as radio great

Being a radio great means jack shit now.

(((Stern))) goes into ob$curity while anthony rots away in financial ruin.

In a historical sense yes. But this show has always been about ignoring every social norm, leaving behind social decency, and even committing crimes against strangers occasionally(on the part of the pests) for the sake of comedy. Now he's reaping what he's sowed.

I can find someone funny and still enjoy dicks being photoshopped in his dead mother’s mouth, or him being outed as a tranny fucker.

I think OnA was pretty important to people discovering good comics and learning about the “inside” of the industry even if Kurt thinks we’re all pigeons. Burr Louis Patrice Colin are some of the best comics ever IMO. Ant had some moments but he had to chimp out about Obama and it was all downhill from there.

I’m sure Jeffrey Dahmer made some funny stuff when he was younger too, doesn’t excuse what he did

Anthony is really only funny in one capacity: when he has a work horse like opie allowing him to be the guy who cracks jokes without any pressure. He's a second mic. Anthony could still be a hilarious and successful host if he didn't buy into his own hype and think he could be the one running a show. He can't handle pressure and lacks creativity outside of one liners and riffing.

HAHA-HA HOLY SHITT!

Unlike many of you guys, I am able to listen to old O&A clips and laugh at Jimmy and Ant. Boardroom Jimmy and Ted scheckler make me laugh to this day.

Doesn't mean I like modern day Jim or Ant.

I agree 100 percent, I am now going through the year 2006 O and A and it's fun to look back with perspective and laugh. A lot of time capsules on the old O and A shows
