It didn't fall flat, the problem is that Jim Jefferies has a pretty large following and will be difficult for anyone to change their opinion on. I honestly had no idea he was that big. Consider the losers that were the subject of the previous documentaries they're has-been radio clowns who the only fans left probably have some relation to this sub. The doc was fine, hopefully it will pick up steam over time.
The reason the Demented World series worked so well is because it presented itself as a real unbiased documentary and then progressed with the inside jokes getting more obvious and by the end was a glorious hit-piece. This one was a little more aggressive from the start so it didn't have time to lure the ballwashers into listening to the valid points before they turned it off, gave it a thumbs down and commented "ur jst a h8ter"
I thought it was great, and he got the tone just right for normal people to appreciate it. They're the ones you have to try and reach. The only problem was he spent too much time on the joke thievery. Nobody cares about that.
I didn’t watch it because I’ve always hated Jim Jeffries and I don’t know anything about him or his history, nor do I want to. I’m sure it was well made, I just didn’t care.
Towards the end of the doc, u/BeigeFrequency says the following:
"Jim Jefferies' story about drugging a teen for sex is just one of many examples of his horrific view and treatment of women. There are 27 videos chronologicaling Jim's appearances on the Opie and Anthony show and almost 200 episodes of Talkin' Shit with Jim and Eddie. And I'm sure there are plenty of other gems out there that paint a different picture of Jim than the male feminist facade he's presenting to the world now."
Gee Beige, I thought that's what the doc was supposed to be about. Is that a lot of content to sift through? Hell yeah. But in a sub where there's constantly 1000+ people lingering, I think you truly underestimate the amount of people that would help go through some of that, especially because it's for one of your docs.
It's just timestamping audio, bro. Hit a brothaman up next time.
I made a thread asking for clips or timestamps. Some people came through but I don't expect to be spoon fed clips. On the other hand, I didn't want the video to go on for very long. It was meant to be a one off and my thought process was that I didn't want to make the video repetitive by filling it with a bunch of similar clips.
I won't disagree with you but there isn't much I can do now. I'll just move on and keep making videos. I'm already working on a a big lenny video to fill some time, then the Anthony Finale. After that I want to do a Patrice series. Hopefully the Jefferies video will gain traction during that time frame.
With everybody associated with the show, jim Jefferies seems like odd choice to go with right after. You’d think Amy would get a documentary before that douche

I wouldn't trade that intro away for anything. I think it started so strongly with that production that it set it up to fall flat sadly

Watched it till the end. Rarely do that on Netflix these days.

Did you ever hear him on O&A? He really was funny on the show. But yeah, sometimes people just can't get past obnoxious accents.

No I never did, he just always seemed to have the same “I’m a BADASS and I’m the only one telling it like it is!!!” vibe that I get from Joe Rogan.

We failed Beige for not promoting the hell out of his doc. Cmon you lazy sods do your duties
Though Beige shouldn't have harped on the parallel thinking joke theft as long as he did because his dumb fans don't have great attention spans anyway

I tried to post it in the stand up sub and those fags were deleting it

To have a good doc, you need a good subject.
