I'm not a big video game guy and I usually can't justify spending like $90 on a game but I got this one the day it came out and I've been having a shitload of fun with it. And I'm actually pumped to replay it as soon as I'm done playing as a good guy so I can drop this bitch on a train track.
I am not deep into it, but at the off shoot it is a little too emmersive for its own good. The most glaring point of this is the hunting. in the first one i used to enjoy going around just shooting the wild life. In this one you have to stalk the pray. it is slow and tedious. and fuck yourself if you stand up. Then once you kill something you have to either skin it and or carry it. And if you are too far from your horse? Have fun carrying it until that shitty glue factory hears you whistle. I will admit this is very early on. I just got to my own camp... I havent done any of the first missions there as i just wanted to ride around and explore.. Though I did laugh when a startled a guys horse and it shoed him in the face killing him.. at which point what was his became mine.
It's fun but they did everything they could to make it as slow paced as possible. Extremely limited fast travel, slow as fuck looting, no running in camp etc

This game is hilarious when it becomes an extension of your own stupidity. I died fucking up to tame a wild horse yesterday, my guy got kicked in the face going down while stupidly clutching his gun that I accidentily had him pull without noticing before. He went out looking like a retard because of my clumsiness.

Use your horse and a shotgun with slugs or poison arrows. You don't have to stalk shit.
