I listened to the latest Opie podcast

It’s cringy, very cringy, but more sad than anything. Opie and Carl sound like two people who are getting to know each other as they pretend to be best friends. It’s really weird. Opie also tells awful childhood stories that sound completely made up. Either that, or he’s just an extremely poor story teller. Carl seems some times sort of funny, if only because of Opies presence, but in the end, Carl overly laughs at the mildest jokes and ruins any hope for a comedic moment. The edits are also horrible and there’s a rant line. The people that call this rant line are somewhere between morning zoo callers and people that buy those “Stay calm and” t shirts.
I need a drink now. Brothaman has truly lost his mind if this he feels the need to cling onto something this shitty just to try and stay relevant.
Oh, and Opie said he used to be a “B list celebrity” when they were on the radio.

Jim, Ant, and Opie all have Youtube channels where they upload parts of their shows, and it's interesting to compare their traffic (yes, you can watch these shows elsewhere but I still feel it's an apples-to-apples comparison for measuring respective pull).
Jim and Sam's clips get 10-500K views per vid, depending on the subject. Similar story for TACS.
Opie gets 1-5K views per episode. There's very little fluctuation. Occasionally a video gets a bit of buzz behind it (probably from being linked on this sub) but otherwise he's getting the same views I did when I was 16 and making DragonForce AMVs.
Surprising he's not getting more when he's the master of shock comedy.

This is Ant and Jimmy's livelihoods and they're terrible at it.
At least Opie has made me laugh on Twitter the last week. That's more than any of those other fruits can say at this point.

Opie is lying ( as he often does) when he says he’s doing this as a hobby. He thinks he can parlé this into a full time gig. It’s the only thing that was offered to him, I’m sure after begging Tim Sabean for a show. Opie tried to go after Imus’ time slot on WABC once it was announced he was forced out. With the exception of Tim Sabean, brother Weeze and stunt Brain, he’s burned every bridge he has in the industry.

I could understand listening to one of the first few of these, but now that he's done about fifty of them, and they all stunk, why listen to this one? Listening to Episode Four and not liking it is Opie's fault. Listening to episode Fifty Four and not liking it is your fault.
