Amy Schumer Documentary?
1 2018-10-30 by porsalin
Would anybody want this or do you have any better suggestions? I wanna go back to the OnA universe but going after female comedy would be a nice side-quest.

Any bad press as to that joke thieving porker is long overdue.

Have some respect...she's turning down a million dollars by not doing a Big Game (Super Bowl) ad and standing with Kaepernick.

1 The_Sharpie_Is_Black 2018-10-30
Well we all know that's impossible
1 OkaySeriouslyBro 2018-10-30
Are you going to spend the entire documentary gushing about how amazing her comedy is or are we going back to the hate documentary formula?
1 porsalin 2018-10-30
It'll be back on the hate train
1 OkaySeriouslyBro 2018-10-30
This sketch from episode 7 of Inside Amy Schumer is perhaps one of the show's the most complex and fascinating. To an everyday person, it might seem like this sketch is simply a gynecologist commenting how big Amy's vagina is, but peel back below the surface and you really see how it speaks about the masculine need of all men to belittle a women's physical appearance.
1 flip0pilf 2018-10-30
She isn't interesting enough to waste time on.
Maybe in five or six more years there will be a better story about her fall from fame. She is currently in a wicked downward spiral. She is gaining weight, married a nobody, and her social and political views are becoming more radical.
1 porsalin 2018-10-30
Well I'm thinking Amy as the focal point but have it about the wider threat of perpetuating women in comedy. Talk about gadsby, cameron esposito, bonnie. About how their progressive shit is ruining the discussion on what's funny. But keep Amy as a central point.

Thereโs nothing wrong with women in comedy just women in comedy who constantly remind you that theyโre women doing comedy.
1 imperial87 2018-10-30
I mean in Gadsby's defense, I thought it was a bloke until it reminded me it was a woman. So it was sort of helpful that time.
1 ForceFeedNana 2018-10-30
I'm still not convinced
1 NY19 2018-10-30
If you go after Bonnie, make sure you find the clip where she flips her shit at Pat Dixon because he made fun of retards, but how she called Patrice a nigger
1 yipeekayayKemosabe 2018-10-30
An Otto & George documentary would be great!
1 porsalin 2018-10-30
A little clarification - basically going from OnA regular who'd happily talk about fucked up shit like raping cab drivers to being part of the resistance and essentially being an enemy agent of comedy. I want to expand it a little to the wider discussion of women in comedy and how dangerous a trend it is but have Big Amy the focal point.
1 RacksDiciprine 2018-10-30
As long as you include Bonnie bombing on stage while dressed as a man I'm all for it
1 i_saw_nothing 2018-10-30
That'll be in the Bonnie MacFarlane documentary.
Unfortunately, that'll take up only about 15 seconds of the whole documentary. Which is a pretty good chunk considering that the other 45 seconds will be about the Bonnie MacFarlane character in the original Red Dead Redemption, and 8 seconds of Vos' plugs.
1 halfwholediminished 2018-10-30
you do know that whole thing was staged right?
1 ForceFeedNana 2018-10-30
No, stupid.
No.
1 cardaderdention 2018-10-30
You should cover how this sub exposed her joke thievery with a few viral videos.
1 PassProtect15 2018-10-30
Yeah we want this 1000%.
Suggestion - please isolate the Amy Schumer cab rape story and release it as a trailer. That could get serious traction and force her to comment on her vile, disgusting rape of a hard-working immigrant POC.
1 imcrapyall 2018-10-30
I just hope you bring up how women are definitely put in a better position than men. With men you just fucking suck, with women no matter how awful you are, you're trying and that's good enough because equality and empowerment! YOU GO GIRL!
1 NY19 2018-10-30
That sounds pretty good. Since Amy had taken a lot of shit, you have to make sure you come up with some good original stuff, otherwise it will just feel old and stale. But that's a new angle so it doesn't sound bad
1 Lasagna_Hat 2018-10-30
I think an Amy centered doc would be great
I don't think extending her bullshit to a commentary on female comedy would come off very well (it would be dismissed as some misogynistic hit piece)
I think using Schumer as the shining example of that "douchebag frat bro with a cunt" type of female comedy is a worthy take tho...
"I'm such a slut! Gurrrrl patriarchy be damned I'm on the hunt for dicks tonight!!!...btw I'm oppressed"...these comedy stylings need to be dissected with your posh accent
1 goldstandard32 2018-10-30

1 TheDreidelMan 2018-10-30
No. Terrible person, perfect subject. It might be advantageous to hide your disdain for female comedy. So that fat pig can't squeal misogyny. Among your docs, the Matarese one was the best at feigning objectivity. Perhaps that's a direction worth considering? Whatever angle you take: Godspeed!
1 Toss__Pot 2018-10-30
I think if it's funny enough, it would overshadow the disdain
but what do I know
1 ManiacalChrisBenoit 2018-10-30
This is a good point. Make it objective so we can spam it and it can get wider traction.
1 cayneabel 2018-10-30
And if you really want to insulate yourself against accusations of misogyny, Porsalin, compare Schumer against female comics that are actually good (like Joan Rivers).
1 TrollmassaGeneral 2018-10-30
Exactly. Donโt confuse the issue. You can make the larger point without literally referencing it by being specific as hell with Amy. If you combine the two issues, the point gets lost and it will be too easily dismissed as incel misogyny. Amy doesnโt suck because women suck. Amy sucks because Amy sucks. Thatโs the tone.
1 Kenn_Kennerson 2018-10-30
You could do 90 minutes of of objective fact-based documenting, but if you show a clip of a pig oinking or something for 3 seconds, that is all that will be talked about and will negate your work
1 TriangleDimes 2018-10-30
Yeah the MDE one was good but too antisemetic throughout.
1 InnocentChrisKuhn 2018-10-30

1 TheDreidelMan 2018-10-30
Nice dig in the wrong direction. Funny how like-minded people downvote you.
1 TriangleDimes 2018-10-30
Theres a good twist at the very end but pretty much the entire thing has Jew jokes and stars of david and Sam's interview mentions Jews a lot. I mean it's the entire thrust of the piece, which is funny in a way but if any regular person watches it the takeaway is MDE is obsessed with Jews.
1 TheDreidelMan 2018-10-30
I was an asshole commenting after only skipping through. Having seen it, I simply don't know what exactly to make of it.
Anyway, it's a shame the TV show was cancelled. It was just funny and interesting. And wherever those three guys stand politcally (whatever that faggy phrase means), they don't seem to be worse people than I am or most other people.
1 take_the_bus_sammy 2018-10-30
Well she did turn down a Superbowl ad she was never offered. So don't forget the hero angle.
1 deenge 2018-10-30
Bobo doc
1 tapetape2 2018-10-30
Please be mean again, some parts made me laugh but most of the Mde thing was a lot of ball washing. Ugh that quote from Sam at the end about us being at war was fucking cringe inducing. You really glossed over him gloating about that lady who died at the Dodge Charger crowd attack, or the tranny fucking, or the weird dom relationship he was in. I get it if you respected him but heโs not far from a piece of shit in real life just like Sam Roberts and Ant and Matarese.
1 revolvingmonk 2018-10-30
As an MDE fan, it sucks how they got fucked over but I don't know how Sam, or anyone else for that matter, can sit there and act surprised at the way things turned out. MDE had the alt-right label way before World Peace and it's pretty well known what the political leanings of everyone associated with Adult Swim are. I was stunned when I first heard MDE was getting a show on Adult Swim considering the politics of each side. Anyone who didn't see the situation with AS and MDE coming way before it ever happened is a fucking blind idiot.
To then act surprised and get up in arms over the whole situation is just dumb. I enjoyed the documentary for the most part but to express shock and outrage over what happened to MDE is incredibly naive. Other than some facts Porsalin got wrong, that's the biggest issue I had with the documentary.
Also, what has MDE/Sam done since then? Absolutely nothing, aside from putting out a book that was mostly user-submitted content. Sam did nothing to capitalize on the heat the whole situation generated. Instead, pretty much all he did was piss and moan about getting fucked over as if he's the only person to ever get fucked in the entertainment business. He can blame Jews all he wants if that's what makes him feel better but those same Jews fuck each other over just as much as they fuck over Gentiles. It's pretty well known that the entertainment business is a ruthless and cuthroat one.

I have a better suggestion for you Porsalin:
Ask Beige Frequency to re-do the Sam Roberts and Jim Norton documentaries because yours only helped to give them a contract extenstion rather than making management at SiriusXM not re-sign them.

1 BearFootBrad 2018-10-30
I feel like the appeal of the stuff you and beige have put out is that it's targeted at people that aren't relevant outside of a niche audience. Not many people give a shit about the O&A verse but you guys cover it in a way a that you'd be able to follow even if you had never heard of the show before. Big Amy is already pretty widely hated and it feels like beating a dead horse to me. But if you're looking to get more eyes on your channel that'd be a good way to do it
1 porsalin 2018-10-30
I pretty much wanted to see what you all thought and if there's a better suggestion. I think a wider 'women in comedy' thing with shooms focused on could be fun?
1 halfwholediminished 2018-10-30
you should try and find the moment she shifted from edgy, politically incorrect comedian to political/social activist. It's an interesting take.
1 BearFootBrad 2018-10-30
I'd be more interested in something on Bonnie if you were looking to go that route. Again I like the niche aspect of it. I enjoyed the Sam doc because I could tell you wanted to get out there what a shitbag he is, so if you're feeling a certain topic go with that.
1 AmberBeard 2018-10-30

Also /u/porsalin when I was browsing some of her old wiki pages I noticed in this one from 2012 she has:

She removed all the male comedians she stole from and Jim.

I just looked up her twitter. It reads like a congresswomans twitter, not a comedian. Not even attempts at jokes around the political subjects.
You should frame how she has gone from copying the style and content of her New York environment of comedians, but in a much inferior form to copying her uncles political points in a much inferior form. She is not trying to make something new and authentic. Sad!

1 Ichise-san 2018-10-30
shes not interesting at all. i think with beige doing ant and you doing the worm, the only doc to do is opie. theres an absurd amount of subject matter. him backstabbing vos and bobby, abusing disabled people, him harboring sam roberts under his tit, the kicking and killing of an innocent dog, him abusing the likes of denny, his pathological lying before and after his radio career (im gettin a deal with fawkin twitch/if i sign this deal this tesla is mine borther), him filming roland taking a shit, it goes on forever.
theres too much great shit to cover to not do an opie doc. dont let these ironic ballwashers dissuade you.
1 porsalin 2018-10-30
I don't think it's the right time to do opie. Maybe when this all blows over...
1 Ichise-san 2018-10-30
i hate to say it but its not going to blow over. ive been trying for over a month and it hasnt budged an inch, these assholes have really truly forgotten what a complete garbage human opie is. theyre really under the misconception that opies only flaw was that he wasnt funny when in reality hes arguably a bigger piece of fucking trash than the worm (ant obviously being the worst of the three). a documentary reminding people is the only way..but if you choose not to do it i understand.
just going to put this out there, i think about like 30% of this sub is either not a fan of or vehemently against the shitty opie bit, also the youtube crowd who still listens to o&a will love the doc because they all still hate opie. being exposed to that pile of shit that often tends to make you hate his guts.
1 tar_baby33 2018-10-30
Yes...Opie sucks and deserves a doc showing how awful he is. So he went t ok Patrice's and Steve's funerals He treated almost everyone he worked with like shit...for years.

Do it. Her 15 minutes of fame marred by stolen jokes and her subsequent desperate sjw pandering as she fades into obscurity is perfect
1 TangerineReam 2018-10-30
You did an MDE documentary?
1 porsalin 2018-10-30
yeah
1 ShakingSquirrels 2018-10-30
Amy and/or Bonnie would be gold right about now. Although maybe it might be good to let Bonnie simmer for a while.

I hope you include why most comedians are afraid to call her out. Bill Burr once called her out in his podcast but in a very non-name dropping way. In YKWD, Robert Kelly seems to hint to Keith Robinson that his "boss" is opposite of what they believe in in terms of comedy making fun of anything. It was very brief but something to that effect.

I wouldn't mind an artie lange doc. I would love to see how you would work your magic on Chris chan, although he's been covered many times.
1 choccole 2018-10-30
Maybe talk about the broader issue of "anti comedy" you know...comics know platform issues and don't tell jokes.
1 yevyoyevyo 2018-10-30
Maybe a couple projects down the road, would you consider a Sam volume 2? There's so much more that needs to be documented about the mutant and nobody can do it quite like you
1 Anuskasvo 2018-10-30
Hell yeah man, time to roast that piggy!
1 TheismIsUnstoppable 2018-10-30
I can't imagine watching it due to having to sit through her comedy skits.
1 DildoRenter 2018-10-30
If you don't mind being fat and don't want people to keep fat-shaming you, stop wearing sleeveless blouses, you twat.
Better yet, make a tiny effort to tone those arm curtains.
1 NormandFutz 2018-10-30
Oh cool

Fight the good fight brotha-man. Next you have to do the Opester, clearing his good name.
1 individual02 2018-10-30
Yes, but it has to be perfect.

JIM JEFFERIES
1 porsalin 2018-10-30
Beige is doing this one and it promises to be great
1 ReDMeridiaN 2018-10-30
What about a sweeping epic documentary on female comics and their unfunny hypocrisy? Of course Amy would be the main focus, but you could also call out Bonnie and the countless other comediennes who oscillate between talking about how bad their bodily functions stink and scolding men for being better at everything.
1 porsalin 2018-10-30
It's like you plucked this idea from my brain - that was my thinking. I really do want to expand the scope past Amy and look at the likes of cameron esposito, gadsby, bonnie etc.
1 tar_baby33 2018-10-30
Donโt forget Iliza.
1 Kenn_Kennerson 2018-10-30
Also silencing liebman Madigan and pescatelli
1 a-corsican-pimp 2018-10-30
I'm still hilarious
1 a-corsican-pimp 2018-10-30
Jim Jefferies deserves one.
