In Bubba's interview with Ant he said Sirius offered him $250k. And that was for him to pay his entire staff. If someone on Howard's channel can't even make decent money what do you think these two dildos are getting? I'd honestly be surprised if they're even splitting $200k
My guess is that Jim is in the $200-250k range and Sam is around $100k. There was a show a long time ago where they figured out what Sam made and if you did the numbers it came out too like $50k...that was as a producer. Jim still has the name recognition (of you want to call it that) and is a comedian...and we all know that Sirius loves paying a name!
$50k as a producer sounds about right. I wonder if stock was an option...
A low man on the totem pole in 2008 would be sitting on a few hundred thousand dollars if they took 5% of their pay in stock back when it was $.12 per share.
Producers don't make shit in TV. The average salary is under 70k. That's why guys like Dick Wolf have their name on everything. I can't imagine that radio would be any better
Exactly. That's why I figured with the move to executive producer and then finally getting his name on the show its not like he would suddenly be making 7 figures
So Bubba was negotiating with a Sirius employee, but the budget was determined by Stern.
Stern is well known to be a tightwad. As he sees it, he's doing you a favor by allowing you on his channel. If he could charge them to be on it, he would.
That's why Howard's deal was absurd, he was supposed to deliver an entire network of entertainment.
O&A tried something similar then ran out of steam. In the beginning there was talk of hiring "Ron and Fez" and "BJ Shea." The latter never signed, and then they brought on Jason Ellis.
Think of all the movies, TV shows he’ll tell us he never saw, the books he didn’t read; all those Michio Kaku documentaries that he heard were really good. The possibilities are endless.
Because almost nobody wants to be on a subscription radio site when you can be podcastingfor ad dollars and the ability to promote yourself to a much wider audience. Jim said he didn't want to go to Compound because he'd be promoting his gigs to the same people every week. But I doubt they've got a much better variety of listeners on Sirius these days. They've got 33.49 million subscribers, but most of those are in cars that listen to music during a 30 minute drive and aren't flipping around to the point where they reach talk radio.
Why has any retard ever considered Compound a valid career option? Why is it discussed so much? I’m not even being petty or spiteful. Just don’t get why any morons here deliberate Compound as if anyone would ever sign there. Why the fuck would anyone leave a corporate gig to work for that dogshit? How fucking retarded are fans that continue to discuss something that was a comically terrible idea when it was started and that has only gotten worse with all the wifebeating and doubling down on the racist ranting over there?
This was when people were optimistic about Anthony during the time before Opie and Jim signed a new deal. People thought if Jim left and did a daily show with Anthony it would get enough subscribers to be a success. 2014 was a long time ago.
Satellite radio was awesome 10 years ago. It's so outdated now with podcasts for talk and Spotify for music. But this is a man stuck in the past. He doesn't get it. His amazement at "how big Chip is" when he's getting under 60,000 YouTube views tells you all you need to know. He missed the golden age for comedian podcasts when he and Anthony had a chance to do one 4 years ago but he's clueless and Anthony was dumb enough to think people would pay half of ago Sirius streaming subscription for one show that's 2 hours long and that his ugly mug needed video.
I listen to all the episodes, they get a healthy amount of callers and interaction usually, it depends on the subject but they probably have a good amount of listeners and there should be crossover between fans of shows on Faction Talk.
Just because you don't like something doesn't mean others don't enjoy it, I don't like them but they must have listeners otherwise SiriusXM would have cut them loose.
Not a fan at all of C&R at all, but they are yes men at SXM. They will do whatever the people in charge want them to do. They have a good relationship with some sponsors across the SXM brand too, which is why they've been on forever it seems.
Jim didn't want to go to Compound Media because of the money. This illusion that Anthony has tens of millions of dollars and can afford to pay Jim anywhere close to what Sirius pays is fucking insane.
Do you think Jim wants Keith and Anthony in-charge of his paycheck? Do you think Jim wants to commute to Long Island everyday? There are 100 reasons Jim says no to Compound Media before we get to 'audience diversity.'
I just can't believe Jim wouldn't join even after Anthony got that big studio in the city. Hasn't he noticed all of the classic O&A regulars like Dave Attell and Lewis Black popping in on a regular basis?
Nah. Jim will stay at Sirius for as long as he can, for one reason: access to celebrities. Jim can't get photos at the compound, because nobody famous is ever on - he's one of the most famous people to guest there.
At this point, it's a question of how little money Jim will take to feed his obsession. Always remember, Jim is powerless to his obsessions, be it porn, celebrity photos, or norwegian beauty queens with a 5 o'clock shadow.
And, dude, I don't even listen to any of them anymore, haven't for a long time, but even I know Ant has a studio in the city, and Jim could uber there for the gig.
Jim probably paid off the bulk of his mortgage a while ago - or did if he was smart. Then he could go pretty low salary-wise and still stay in the city. And, he can still pretend he's a mover and a shaker in the comedy world, and lord his gig over other comics at the Comedy Cellar, because he can get them on the air at Sirius, whereas "Yeah, I podcast with an old drunk dude I used to do radio with" doesn't quite have the cachet that "I have a show on Sirius XM" does.
And celebrity photos. It's always going to be about that. Jim's life is run by obsession, he's not giving that up, they'll have to throw him and his camera out of the building by force.
Jim got accustomed to a lifestyle he never should have had. He was a screw up, 5 foot nothing, who was living with his parents into mid adulthood. He never should've gotten to where he is today, and never would've without Sirius and O&A.
He's never had a decent life outside of working for Sirius. His world would probably get real dark for him if he ever got dropped. I think he's really bad with money (does he cook at all? Doesn't he have a really nice apartment that's probably out of his income bracket?).
I don't think he's planned ahead for when the show is over at all. When it is he's going to freak the fuck out. He might even eat 2-3 alcohol filled chocolates.
because enough morons listen, I gave it a shot this morning for solid 15 minutes, it's actually unlistenable drivel and I did what the boys always yelled at angry callers for, turn the dial/shut the app off..
I am not endorsing the show whatsoever, but SiriusXM markets to two types of audiences, music fans and sports/talk radio fans. No matter how awful the Jim and Sam Show is, besides Howard, who is somewhat of a wildcard where his departure would leave a huge programming gap, while also leaving almost no other similar content outside of Jim and Sam for customers, this show acts as a weak safety net for customer retention. There is little doubt in my mind that Jim makes over 400k and Sam over 200k, so the entire show cost under a million a year, and to break even only requires 6k customers who specifically subscribe for Jim and Sam.
SiriusXM's demographic is age 50+, anyone 20's/30's is using one of the streaming music services for music. SiriusXM gets the talk show host fans like Howard & the news channels. Few subscribe for the music.
How the hell did they get that extension? The show is so bland and nothing.
Feminists and SJW's have taken over and only holes and PC eunuchs can have careers. Welcome to our new sanitized utopia, enjoy the bland mush served up by these 2 banal cockroaches because it's all you're getting.
They probably figured they'd get an even worse offer next year so they agreed to lock in 3 years for maybe slightly more than they were originally offered. Basically they were desperate and thought they were about to lose their show so they were happy to take a 3 year contract.
Talent out there is so bad that SiriusXM is actually paying for this absolute dogshit radio show (and I use that term loosely) for another three years? Idiots.
Sirius is going out of business and when they do, and the executives are all confused as what they did wrong, we can all sit here and point to this moment as a direct cause.
Fuck that show dude it is horrible. Fuck the chip chipperson podcast it's the worst thing to ever come from the o&a universe. I actually liked Opie and jim and listened on a daily basis but will never turn on sirus xm again with this horrible lineup of shit. Oh and one more funny thing, they are deleting and blocking negative commenters on that post so it looks like there is overwhelmingly positive reactions to this announcement.
Great! Another three years of whinging about PC culture, boring MMA and WWE meatheads and insufferable porn actresses. It's as if SiriusXM wants to go out of business.
Jim is now sleeping in both of his old friend's caskets. No sign from Jim that getting Ant back on the show was even considered, let alone a sticking point for re-signing. What a fucking worm.
I used to listen daily to Jim and Sam. After the first 6 months, however, Jim clearly checked out and stopped giving a fuck. We talk a lot of shit but on O&J he at least tried to jump in and be funny, if only to make Opie feel or seem incompetent. Now it's all egg farts, Shitloaf, and annoying ass Sam asking obvious questions trying to be funny. It has none of the good qualities that the show did in the first six months.
For those who say Jim and Sam was never good, I mean look at the Nancy Grace interview, or the Ken Bone phoner. They were maybe half as good as it would've been in the old O&A days, but it was still two guys trying to be entertaining and not giving a fuck. Now they're clearly so stuck in the mud with celebrities that nobody fucking cares about, with Sam trying to make himself the new Stern with Jim there as his silly goofball Artie. Last professional mongoloid prick. I hope Jim gets fired.
That Slice dude is a cucked faggot. He was one of the 15 douches in love with that one eyed junkie Laylefalu aka Lulu. They all thought she was their girlfriend, a chick they had never met in person who has one eye and shoots dope every day. In the meantime she was sending them all the same cunt pics and saying she took them just for that person she was texting. Pathetic losers.
That's exactly how long Stern has left before he retires.
In my mind, Stern/Sirius wanted the Opster out and the Jim and Sam thing is just fluff that they know won't stir controversy or move the needle. It's safe to have them as their B-team.
Everyone I know has canceled Sirius and/or replaced the head unit in their car to negate that annoying "Sirius trial" station. They actually count those advertising 'come on' channels in cars as active 'subscriptions' and that's how they bloat the numbers.
There's too many podcasts to keep me occupied. Can you imagine this shitty show in 2 years? Gross.
I don’t ever want to see another “I was listening to jim and Sam and Sam didn’t know Guam was an country DURRR” posts, if you pay to listen to jim and Sam this is all your fault. Just. Stop listening.
Could have helped out their dear friend Anthony by bringing their brand to his platform, but didn't. Will probably spend a few more shows talking about how disloyal Opie is.
If Stern can still get them to pay him tens of millions of dollars a year for his limited schedule, I doubt Sirius cares much about paying their staff less than 1/100th of what he gets.
Can this whole subreddit suck my cock? It’s supposed to be about the fandom of opie and Anthony. You all just sit around and believe whatever stupid porselain documentary comes out. If you don’t like Jim and Sam go listen to Howard stern then you faggot idiots.
It’s supposed to be about the fandom of opie and Anthony.
How many times do you need yakov's dinner adventure posted until you're bored? You come here to try and put people in their place but you're the one who is living in the past. Its been nothing but utter garbage for the last 4 years from everyone who was once involved with the show. Go listen to Howard Stern? What year is it? Are you still invested in a radio war from 60 years ago?
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Sam appeals to wrestling fans. There's probably enough subscriptions to offset Jim and Sam's salaries and make a profit.
Great, 3 more years of a fucking substanceless show where a cackling bigheaded (literally and figuratively) primate interviews generic guests with some lethargic shell of himself comedian who should be on lexapro.
Not a fan at all of C&R at all, but they are yes men at SXM. They will do whatever the people in charge want them to do. They have a good relationship with some sponsors across the SXM brand too, which is why they've been on forever it seems.

Too bad we won't get an honest answer about how much the pay cut was, or how Jim now has to get permission to do Chip live everywhere else

Great! Another three years of whinging about PC culture, boring MMA and WWE meatheads and insufferable porn actresses. It's as if SiriusXM wants to go out of business.
1 ExistentialGraduate 2018-10-29
I bet Sam makes 1/10th of what Jim makes and thanks them for it.
1 Peckas1 2018-10-29
Sam should make 1/10th of what Pat Duffy makes.
1 fudgicle2018 2018-10-29
Sam should eat me raw with a Flava Straw.
1 SociallyAwkwardRyan 2018-10-29
1 bonniesretardsister 2018-10-29
Then stop listening every day. I stopped after their first 2 months. It's easy.
1 SociallyAwkwardRyan 2018-10-29
I did stop listening. Nice reading comprehension skills, stupid
1 bonesy42 2018-10-29
That's 3 more years of fuel for this sub!
1 earlsgrandma 2018-10-29
That Slice dude is a cucked faggot. He was one of the 15 douches in love with that one eyed junkie Laylefalu aka Lulu. They all thought she was their girlfriend, a chick they had never met in person who has one eye and shoots dope every day. In the meantime she was sending them all the same cunt pics and saying she took them just for that person she was texting. Pathetic losers.
1 NY19 2018-10-29
See to me that tweet sounded totally sarcastic, but maybe i'm just looking at it with my own views of the show
1 earlsgrandma 2018-10-29
No, he is always tweeting about how great they are. If it wasn't him, I would agree with you.
1 bonniesretardsister 2018-10-29
I'd be DTF a one eyed junkie.
1 UhLookHereMan 2018-10-29
gonna need more info on this one eyed junkie
1 Themenwithnoname 2018-10-29
I wonder if Sirius ever polled their listeners (J&S) on likability. Could it be 'young' Sam, the Tefft-Dog, or still Baby Boy?
1 ScottSummersOmegaLVL 2018-10-29
I thought Jim and Sam really sucked. I'm pretty sure everyone did. How could I be so wrong? Am I crazy?
1 CacaDick 2018-10-29
Gross.
1 sanfrancisco69er 2018-10-29
I don’t ever want to see another “I was listening to jim and Sam and Sam didn’t know Guam was an country DURRR” posts, if you pay to listen to jim and Sam this is all your fault. Just. Stop listening.
1 brmlb 2018-10-29
all I want is for Sam Roberts to die before he thinks he’s made it in show business. I can’t stand this weasel.
1 fskoti 2018-10-29
Could have helped out their dear friend Anthony by bringing their brand to his platform, but didn't. Will probably spend a few more shows talking about how disloyal Opie is.
1 GrandMasterCoolRay 2018-10-29
Really happy about this, I knew this subs reaction would be funny and it has more all tho limited material to use the next 3 years.
1 frontbottombm 2018-10-29
Howard allowed these two man children to keep their jobs.
1 notadegenerate1 2018-10-29
The world needs ditch diggers too ya know.
1 LamarThePotato 2018-10-29
The worst part is the show is soo shitty and unremarkable that most of the times doesn't even make sense to post anything about it in this sub.
1 halfwholediminished 2018-10-29
fuck I wanted nothing more than to see jim and sam unemployed
1 ArvelAzamat 2018-10-29
the only reason I am glad this happened. Is because you know Nana is mad knowing that Jim won’t be coming to his shit network
1 NashuaDan 2018-10-29
We know where to direct our hate for the foreseeable future...
1 Peckas1 2018-10-29
If Stern can still get them to pay him tens of millions of dollars a year for his limited schedule, I doubt Sirius cares much about paying their staff less than 1/100th of what he gets.
1 lispychicken 2018-10-29
Ya'll just need to find better things to listen to:
1 TheAcaciaStrain93 2018-10-29
Can this whole subreddit suck my cock? It’s supposed to be about the fandom of opie and Anthony. You all just sit around and believe whatever stupid porselain documentary comes out. If you don’t like Jim and Sam go listen to Howard stern then you faggot idiots.
1 BoardroomBimmy 2018-10-29
How many times do you need yakov's dinner adventure posted until you're bored? You come here to try and put people in their place but you're the one who is living in the past. Its been nothing but utter garbage for the last 4 years from everyone who was once involved with the show. Go listen to Howard Stern? What year is it? Are you still invested in a radio war from 60 years ago?
1 ImaRetardedFag 2018-10-29
lol good one
1 3stepsbackward 2018-10-29
This is about the fandom of Opie and Anthony. I'm a big fan of all of them making complete and utter embarrassments of themselves.
1 realister 2018-10-29
On one hand I am glad there will be SOMETHING to listen to, on the other hand its Jim & Sam.
1 JuulSantana 2018-10-29
REMINDER: JIM NORTON RAPED A WOMAN
1 ShittingOutYourTwats 2018-10-29
I write to Sirius everyday about getting some decent programming. Apparently to no avail.
1 BrothamanB5010 2018-10-29
Good for them. Maybe they can improve the show now?
1 porsalin 2018-10-29
This just be how it felt for hillary supporters
1 BaggySpandex 2018-10-29
Read : OnA sub active for at least 3 more years.
1 frontbottombm 2018-10-29
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Sam appeals to wrestling fans. There's probably enough subscriptions to offset Jim and Sam's salaries and make a profit.
1 IDoHeroin4Breakfast 2018-10-29
I hope they both die
1 connordon94 2018-10-29
booooooo
1 throwawaymanthrows 2018-10-29
Can you imagine how many uber rides and egg whites that entails?
1 pbermiez 2018-10-29
Wow.
1 DildoRenter 2018-10-29

Sam signed that 60k a year contract.
1 deenge 2018-10-29
Shit, I should get into the trucker scamming business too.
1 jetboyjetgirl 2018-10-29
Sirius is wild. There's no metrics or minimum standard of success applied.
1 scotness 2018-10-29
This proves my point that Sam made a deal with the devil. He is an unfunny hack
that owes his career to Opie and maybe Anthony
1 ranjit4prez 2018-10-29
Great, 3 more years of a fucking substanceless show where a cackling bigheaded (literally and figuratively) primate interviews generic guests with some lethargic shell of himself comedian who should be on lexapro.
1 TheAndyPat 2018-10-29
YUCK indeed
1 notadegenerate1 2018-10-29
Jim won't make 3 years. He'll suicide by pills or something faggy.
1 AlvinItchyCock 2018-10-29
Same got a pay increase to 175k a year now.
1 trollhistoryfilms 2018-10-29
I knew Sirius had a Jewish tinge but didn't realize it was Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder. God help America.
1 Chief_Wild_Eagle 2018-10-29
Fuck that moolie and worm. I hope they die of AIDS.
1 PeterandJanBrady 2018-10-29
#Metoo Jim Norton says otherwise........
1 Jungies 2018-10-29
Sirius are incompetent; that's why the company's been bankrupt twice.
1 Jungies 2018-10-29

1 IntoTheRealm 2018-10-29
Not a fan at all of C&R at all, but they are yes men at SXM. They will do whatever the people in charge want them to do. They have a good relationship with some sponsors across the SXM brand too, which is why they've been on forever it seems.
1 HudsonHughesrealDad 2018-10-29
The Bonfire is fucking terrible. I don't understand how to comics that are funny can have such horrible chemistry.
1 a-corsican-pimp 2018-10-29
We heard you sir.
1 CommodorePawsey 2018-10-29
They do have a sizable audience, I would bet bigger than Jim and Sam by quite some margin.
