Louis Theroux documentary about alcoholics for those who haven't seen it. The guy pictured, in particular, will put you off hard booze for life.

you're gonna have to do better than 'seriously this dude is so drunk' what did he do

Youngish, educated guy who threw away his career and life in general to sit in bed and drink two bottles of vodka a day. Obviously eventually becomes homeless.

Like a lot of drunks he's also a pathetic, manipulative, self-pitying piece of shit when intoxicated. Ends the program being 8 months sober. Clearly had some underlying issues (alcoholic mother died, bad breakup with long term girlfriend etc) but seems to have a chance to get his life together.

The show follows 3 other drunks, 2 other guys and a woman. One of the men also seems to have a chance at surviving but the other 2's livers are fucked and it's too late. Good show, heartwarming stuff.

i would watch that

id keep drinking but

It's sad but interesting. No need to stop drinking unless you're a weak mess like Nana. Real people can enjoy a couple of alcoholic beverages without destroying their lives.

Happy Cake Day McGowan9! Here’s hoping you have a day that's as special and wonderful as you are.

Get bent.

Is that rum cake?

I watched that recently. The guy who freaked me out the most was only in it for a few seconds. There was this guy on a hospital bed, he had glasses and he was in his late forties early fifties. His wife was standing by his bed holding his had and he was whimpering about something, can't remember what. Probably resolving that if he got out of this he would never drink again. His skin was completely yellow and he was totally wild-eyed and afraid as it's possible for someone to get. That's the guy who made the biggest impression on me, cause I know it's exactly what I'd be like if don't stop being an alcoholic. But your description of the people in that doc as ' pathetic, manipulative, self-pitying' is right on the money. The other thing that struck me about all of them was that they had zero self-esteem. They'd all put themselves down in an instant and believed they deserved their shitty lives.

This is so true. They were also all hyper sensitive to any kind of (even mild) setback. Obstacles in life were too much for them without resorting to trying to drink themselves to death.

they were also all gay and had short penises

Wrong.

What's that

I am not off hard booze for life.

It was hyperbole, Denny. You're not German are you? You're a Brit. Sliced bread isn't literally the best thing ever you know.

Yes it is. I tried home baking and it was a right ballache.

Warburtons white sliced loaf does rule to be fair.

get a breadmaking machine, it's easy & awesome

I did. Too much effort with variable results

You mean a wife?

Providing the documentary this random drunk is from really drives home the hilarity of this post.

Yep. And it's him that's the most off-putting thing in it about being a drunk. Not him cracking his head open. Not another guy getting fluid drained out of his swollen, cirrhosis-ridden abdomen. Not the French woman being told by a liver specialist that she's beyond help. No. It's the effeminate guy above, sitting in a hospital bed drunk after another relapse, whining to Theroux, "Do you like me, Louis? Why do you like me? Tell me."

That's what was annoying. He was an educated handsome fella from a well to do family. He had an above average life but only wanted to drink all day. At least do some hard drugs like a real man

Have you seen the one about the guy who's been arrested over 500 times for being drunk in public? They made us watch it in my DUI class.

Lucazade drinking faggot.

Nice link, stupid. The doc is called "drinking to oblivion" by Louis Theroux if anyone wants to watch it. This guy is sober now.

Art Vandalay

I didn't find his alcoholism believable.

In what sense?

All the other alcoholics seemed like real alcoholics, while he seemed like he was doing a Jim Norton, playing an alcoholic.

Yeah i'm sure he was faking that ataxia, and those bottles of vodka were just water. You fucking moron

He was a drama queen and that bottle was Lucazade.
