Did you blow?
1 PhishInVa2 2018-10-12
Yes you always try to blow the cop. Ups the chances of going home scott feee greatly.
1 ElFaporino 2018-10-12
ok, Vos. "alwaysh drive in your short shortsh"
1 AnthonysGunFauxPas 2018-10-12
In my state if you don’t blow it’s an automatic 1 year suspension of your license, and a judge could just outright revoke your license if he wanted to. Very hard to actually fight a DUI anyway it’s the officer’s investigation/word against yours. If you failed a field sobriety test that will fuck your over either way.
1 B0NEck 2018-10-12
I didn't blow in Illinois and got to keep my license the entire time. Less evidence they have, the more they're willing to bargain with you.
1 AnthonysGunFauxPas 2018-10-12
I have stupid cops in my family so maybe I’m susceptible to listening to their bullshit. Makes sense it’s obviously always best to not incriminate yourself. I think a field sobriety test is mandatory though right? I’ve never heard of refusing one.
1 B0NEck 2018-10-12
They said I failed my field sobriety test because I couldn't stand on one foot. I had just sawed down two light poles with my car though. My lawyer pulled the DA aside and said "you have no evidence that my client was drunk. You know I'm going to whoop you on this one. He needs his license to work though so he'll plead guilty if you wave his suspension and he doesnt have to start his car with a breathalyzer." DA said fine. So yea I had to do the same bullshit classes and stuff but they never touched my licence and later got it expunged.

I plowed over a fence at a gas station after I puked all over myself and jerked the wheel while trying to pull over. Ended up blowing a .14 at the police station at noon and got off with a 6 month suspension and a $400 fine, ended up only getting an infraction instead of a misdemeanor. Apparently there was a new young ADA who was prosecuting my case and he completely blew it, I didn't even pay for a lawyer - I had a public defender.

Glad that worked out for you, man. I did blow and fled the scene. I crashed in a ditch out in the middle of nowhere on a country and was so trashed I had my gf come find me and pick me up. Which was obviously very retarded and then was arrested at my house 30 minutes away. I was threatened with fleeing the scene and disrupting an investigation or something but those charges were dropped and I did blow. I forgot I got a lawyer that was another $2k. All in all it was just a big money thing. And I totaled my truck which sucked.

Feel like you should've already been arrested. They dont give you a DUI then let you drive home after being ticketed.
It's a really variable crime by location, so that's gonna be a big factor. Most places are pretty lenient on first-timers though, and just are in it for the $$$
1 Grillskillz 2018-10-12
I was. Spent the night in jail.
1 Applesauceinmypants 2018-10-12
You should have hung yourself in the cell so your family could sue and get a six figure payday. You're black, right?
1 ElFaporino 2018-10-12
agreed. What kind of a retard gets a DUI on a Weds night?
1 AnthonysGunFauxPas 2018-10-12
If it’s a first offense and you didn’t cause any property damage or hurt anyone it’s probably just a misdemeanor. What state do you live in? Get ready to pay a lot of money and be inconvenienced greatly.
I’ve been through the process in IL. Had a 6 month suspension and mandatory DUI counseling classes, the fines etc, and court supervision for a year which is like probation-light. Just another thing you’re forced to do to extract more money right at the end of the process.
1 Vulgardervish 2018-10-12
I got mine in IL too. I didn't blow so it ended up an automatic DUI with a year suspension. If I blew I would have been able to get a hardship after a month. I've heard IL is the absolute worst state to get a DUI and I believe it.
1 AnthonysGunFauxPas 2018-10-12
I hear that too but nowadays most states are pretty tough on them.
I had no business driving how hammered I was, but .08 isn’t shit though a lot of people get fucked over. That’s 2-3 beers in a short amount of time. I’m so paranoid now I won’t drive after I’ve drank any booze at all now. I rarely drink anymore anyway due to medication I take but still.
1 Single_Action_Army 2018-10-12
Funny. When I blew the cop he let me go.
1 Keiththecrook 2018-10-12
If you didn't blow then how did they know you was drunk?
1 Tippy_Toms_Shitlogs 2018-10-12
"...how did they know you was drunk?
So, nigger or hillbilly?
1 Keiththecrook 2018-10-12
both
1 Vulgardervish 2018-10-12
Yeah it's a money thing. Alot of fines, classes and bullshit. You wont do jailtime. Usually after a month of your license being revoked you get a hardship to be able to drive to work. It's a shitty few months for sure, but its not the end of the world. You'll realize in those classes how common it is and see people on their third and fourth. My coworker just got his third with a two car hit and run and didn't get jail time. But his wallet will hurt.
1 BlueBash 2018-10-12
Damn. What state? I was playing with my iPod and rear-ended a car stopped at a stop light, ruined my car and crinkled their back bumper, but still had to do 2 days. It was/is the only thing on my record too.

Did your young son get thrown through the window to his death? If not, you should be good.
1 JudgeHolden00 2018-10-12
Lawyer up, with a good one. If it's your first you'll get it down to a DWAI, which is way better, and if you're not a trouble maker maybe eckless driving.
1 ElFaporino 2018-10-12
Most states a first DUI you don't do time. Though most after 2-3 they will probably mandate some. It will cost you though, with suspensions and all.
1 Top5breakups 2018-10-12
Pay for a decent lawyer, you’ll be paying more upfront but save long-term rather than going cheap.
Notify your employer - they probably won’t care if you’re upfront and honest but done if you randomly pop on a background check update depending on if your state and job allows such things.
Go to AA meetings and get signatures and try to listen. It’ll help legally regardless if you give a shit but you’re there so you might as well open your ears and see if maybe you are in fact an alcoholic.
Good luck.

This is eerie: you have cancer as well. If griz-x gets arrested next I'm going to my local church

Just be happy that you didn't manage to kill your first-born.
1 jack-tipper 2018-10-12
In most states, DUI’s is a cash grab for the courts. They could give two fucks. Hiring a good lawyer is a dick toss but you got to do your homework. Unlike Staties, local cops aren’t too bright. They usually fuck up somehow during your arrest especially if they’re new. A good lawyer can get you off. Don’t hire a lawyer who will show up to court and try to bargain with the DA for 2 minutes and charge you $2,000.
1 BlueBash 2018-10-12
What's annoying is you're ready to get everything done right away but the courts take fucking forever. You should be able to get a good lawyer for $1,200 that can take care of stuff for you. If they try to keep pressing you for more money to fight it, just tell them to stop and get the best plea deal they can. May have to spend another day in jail depending on the whole situation, but some states offer a 48 hour hotel stay/weekend drinking driver's course that will count for both drinking driver's course class and your jail time, as long as its an OWI 1. If you do that, DO NOT get drunk the day before, they will breathalyze you at the door. If you have a dumbass roommate that sneaks booze in, get the fuck out of there. Otherwise, you'll likely end up having to do the jail time and spend an extra 3 nights taking DUI classes. It happened to me coming up on 8 years ago and I remember every miserable part of it. But you fucked up, don't make you a bad person. The whole process will make you feel like shit, but if you have a clean record and you're doing something with your life you can tell the court and may get some sort of leniency. But otherwise, learn your lesson, and thank god you didn't kill someone dude.

Uber? Lyft?
1 Superbad415 2018-10-12
How bad was it? If you’re in a position go on a leave for work, a week to two of rehab will go alooooong way in. Court.
1 Toss__Pot 2018-10-12
Tell the judge you're a sovereign citizen & a freeman on the land who was travelling, make him swear his oath & demonstrate his jurisdiction over you.
If that doesn't work, tell him you're hispanic & it's cultural.
1 white518 2018-10-12
I love watching those idiots get tased.
1 OpieIsTheBestEver 2018-10-12
I got a DUI when I was 19, the judge said they were gonna drug test me and I was nervous every month when visiting my probation officer. Bitch never even gave me a drug test. I didn't get any jail time, just had to go to some classes and was on probation for two years. Just get a lawyer and you shouldn't get any jail time if it's your first offense.
