Favorite 2018 movies so far

Hereditary, First Reformed, and Mandy for me. I have to admit Infinity War was pretty awesome too. There's not really much I'm looking forward to either. 18 is a pretty shitty year for film. 19 is gonna be sick though with Tarantino, Zombie, the Safdies, and Scorcese dropping new shit plus I just feel like every movie I hear about that gets me excited has a 19 release date I thought You Were Never Really Here would be my favorite but I was very disappointed. Oh yeah and Gotti fucking ruled. It was the definition of a good bad movie.

I enjoyed Mandy, it was one of the better movies of the year, but I think a lot of undue praise was heaped on it. I think if I'd have seen this movie as a teenager, I would have watched it weekly and quoted it for the next decade, but at this age in my life, chainsaw fights and demon bikers are momentary amusements at best.
Hereditary was a masterpiece, though, in my opinion. It was like a throwback to the old satanic horror movies of the seventies, trading cheap tension with legitimate uncomfortable and disturbing themes. Not many horror movies these days make me say "that movie was fucked up". Most I watch and never give a second thought to, Hereditary stuck with me for days.

The last 10 minutes of hereditary was filled with some of the scariest and most thrilling scenes in horror history. The plot was totally unique and kept you guessing, while the acting was spectacular all around. I give it two thumbs up my own asshole!

Hereditary was good but it was so God damned long.

Gotti is so amazing. The Red Cup college party in the 1980’s Bronx was unbelievable

The fact that they play a pitbull song twice is my favorite

Mandy is the only movie I've seen this year and it was quite enjoyable

Go watch Upgrade. Better going into it knowing nothing.

I just saw A Star Is Born and it was okay. Dice was the best part.
Bad times At The El Royal looks good, it comes out soon.

Yeah I plan on watching both of these. Will probably see Star is Born this weekend
