I heard this in the first few minutes of an Opie Instagram Live video earlier this week - maybe Sunday or Monday?

It was one of his walking on the street videos and within the first couple of minutes he did close ups on piles of dog/human shit on the sidewalk - in case that helps someone find it.

At the conclusion of the episode they hinted that this would be held in cities all over the country by asking each other which city was next. The episode ended with Opie or Anthony, probably Opie settling on Seattle. Obviously it was a one and done.

I have a job, I’m married and I own a home. Sam not only mocked me for student loans ( my parents did well, but weren’t rich like his keep in mind they bought him a brand new Jeep Wrangler for his internship), he mocked me for starting a business with my father. When the economy crashed, my dad lost his job and was basically aged out. We started a business and at this point Sam would have Sal or Travis call me to see how I was doing. Sam was just trying to humiliate me on air. It wasn’t enough that he had done it during o and a and special delivery, he had to mock me for going out on my own and starting a business. The little piece of shit has had it easy his whole fucking life, everything has been handed to him. He has no concept of how the real world works because he went from one bubble (college) to another (radio). Anyone who thinks Sam has worked hard is an idiot. Sam wouldn’t know hard work if it fucked him in the ass. He’s never lost his job and had to worry or go out and look for new work, he’s never suffered a devastating break up, he’s been with Jess since college. The little fucker has had a privileged and what does he do? Punches down, he’s 35 and still shits on interns.

I’ve always been in the camp that Sam worked his way into his internship and full time job with the company. Yes, his parents kept him afloat, gave him a car, etc.

As a listener, it seemed like all the work with Hits 1, After O&A, Special Delivery, was all Sam proving himself to the company. I’m not giving you shit, and I don’t question his awfulness as a person or his laziness now that he has his dream job.

As Danny pointed out, much of his career he was at the right place at the right time. A position had opened up right around the time he graduated school (Ben had been fired). Moving into the studio (4th mic) after Danny was fired and 3rd mic after Anthony’s dismissal. His current gig comes from back stabbing his mentor.

As far as all the extra things he did, all he was doing was showing the company that he’d be willing to work for free. There was no added value to the company, if there had been don’t you think they would have offered him his own show years ago. He was doing those shows for free so the company didn’t care whether he did, they would have put something else there if he didn’t. Sam’s strength ( this is the only time you’ll see me compliment him) is as a producer. If he was going to be on air talent on anything it would be for wrestling ( the fans hate him there too) or on a z100 esque top 40 morning zoo format not a comedy/shock long form talk program.

There are people who build and design buildings, Nurses and Doctors who work in high pressure situations. There are people out there who manage 100s of people on a regular. Sitting at a desk cutting up audio and fucking around with the interns doesn’t sound like hard work.

I think its bitter to say 'oh well he was in the right place at the right time'. Like the dude said, he ran with everything he was given like it or not.

I was hoping to use SD to keep my foot in the door. I didn’t think there was no hope of getting hired. There was no reason at the time to think why not even be able to get an interview. I have reason to believe Sam may have been involved in me not at the very least getting an interview.

I didn’t want to be on air, I wanted to do behind the scenes work, I would have been happy screening calls, running a board or producing a show. Sirius is also a poorly ran company who is about re-sign Jim and Sam. Since the merger their stocked peaked at $7.70 and since the announcement to by out pandora dropped 10 percent and hasn’t rebounded. I’m glad I don’t work for them.

While I don't particularly like Opie or Anthony, and I think Jim is lazy, I don't hate any of them except for Sam, who I legitimately hope dies terribly. I knew a guy like him in high school, and the fact that he charms others in power but goes after those who are vulnerable makes it so much worse. It shows that he has the ability to understand what he is doing is wrong, and that he has the ability to control it, but chooses not to. There is also something really wrong with intentionally and strategically targeting people who you know that you can inflict the most pain on. I don't know if you're joking or not, but one of my parents--who was born here in the States but lived in Ireland for the duration of the 70s--did volunteer work for the Provos during The Troubles.
