I hated him before this documentary was made public and I thank you for creating this record so he can't snicker in the shadows with the expectation that it won't come back to him.
This isn't comedy, and as with the office humiliation and status jockeying he deployed on his "colleagues" for the better part of a decade, there's no friendly handshake at the end of the tunnel. No, it turns out nobody likes you. Danny, Pat, and Jones, three of the people who worked with you closest, knew you best, and had the benefit of time to put things into perspective, all came to the same conclusion. The results are online for all to see, and they will be for the remainder of your natural life, Sam Roberts.

Made it 30 minutes. I don't know if it's Porsalin himself or the subject matter but I think his docs suck. I like his subjects more than I like him and do not understand why everyone has been sucking his dick. Also his insults are so forced now. Animating those audio visualizer waves one by one must've been a pain in the ass, let alone rendering it. I also hate being overstimulated with good content, making the viewer wait for a rare visual presentation was a genius touch. Youtube certainly was necessary too, how else was I going to rewatch all those parts I got lost from that nauseating limey droning. Why be clear and poignant when you make Jimmy Savile sound like Ben Stein. Especially when the audio ends abruptly and I'm looking at tabs trying to figure out why it's all of a sudden playing a different video, only to go back back and find out that really was the end. Best one yet and well worth the wait. Add more audio spectrometers next time, maybe even a tracking bar. Fuck man, throw an equalizer on there with, get this, a WHITE background.
I came to O&A pretty late in the game, but I thought I knew pretty much all of it.
And yet, this documentary really put it all in perspective.
I'd really like to see one about Ron and Fez. Although I think I know most of their story, the timelines always seem confusing. The doc could tell the whole story of Ron and Fez with a focus on Fez's demons. It even has a happy ending of Fez leaving on his own terms with a real goodbye - plus the phone call he placed into Bennington which seems to prove that he is happier now.
Great job Porsalin! The narration, writing, and composition of your work is legit terrific. The protracted release was actually a blessing, for the flood of hilarious content and commentary it inspired. Praise Allah for the providence of this sub.

I'm grateful to have been one of the grunts on the assembly line the pressing the machines molding the mortar shells. Speaking personally, this isn't a joke. I hate Sam Roberts. I hate him more than Ant, Opie, or Jim at any point. I hate him as a man, not as a media figure. I hate that others have to deal with him and have him exist as a part of their life story. I hated him before this documentary was made public and I thank you for creating this record so he can't snicker in the shadows with the expectation that it won't come back to him.
This isn't comedy, and as with the office humiliation and status jockeying he deployed on his "colleagues" for the better part of a decade, there's no friendly handshake at the end of the tunnel. No, it turns out nobody likes you. Danny, Pat, and Jones, three of the people who worked with you closest, knew you best, and had the benefit of time to put things into perspective, all came to the same conclusion. The results are online for all to see, and they will be for the remainder of your natural life, Sam Roberts.
Thank you u/patfnduffy for your impassioned comments. Guys like Sam Roberts are one in a few hundred, every department, classroom, and office has one. And everyone who has had to work with them craves to see them to face a moment like Sam has tonight, where they get exposed for what they are in a way they can't hide from or manipulate their way out of.

Animating those audio visualizer waves one by one must've been a pain in the ass, let alone rendering it. I also hate being overstimulated with good content, making the viewer wait for a rare visual presentation was a genius touch. Youtube certainly was necessary too, how else was I going to rewatch all those parts I got lost from that nauseating limey droning. Why be clear and poignant when you make Jimmy Savile sound like Ben Stein. Especially when the audio ends abruptly and I'm looking at tabs trying to figure out why it's all of a sudden playing a different video, only to go back back and find out that really was the end. And yet, this documentary really put it all in perspective.
I'd really like to see one about Ron and Fez. Although I think I know most of their story, the timelines always seem confusing. The doc could tell the whole story of Ron and Fez with a focus on Fez's demons. It even has a happy ending of Fez leaving on his own terms with a real goodbye - plus the phone call he placed into Bennington which seems to prove that he is happier now.
