Everyone knows Chevy is an asshole. But he isnt RAYCISS racist. I remember them talking about him and his character Pierce Hawthorne from Community, and how Chevy wanted him (the character) to be a conscious racist, and not have the show making him a fucking retard who just blurted out stuff that happened to be offensive to non-humans.

I dont see that as unreasonable at all. He wanted the character to own his racist statements, and not have him act like a socially inept autistic old man. He thought the show was using racism as humor, and his (character) ignorance as a shield. Chevy was willing to own that, but the show was too pussy to have him outright say it and mean it. And they spun that into Chevy (not the character) being racist and difficult to work with.
