The reason Joe has always put on his fake tough guy/biker persona is that he is secretly gay and has been ashamed of it his whole life. Growing up, his father was very intolerant of homosexuality, so Joe tried to put on a fake manly image to avoid shame from his father. He doesn’t mind all the allegations of racism and pedophilia because he isn’t truly ashamed of those things, they just hurt his public image. When it was discovered that he was gay, something that is widely tolerated in our society, the shame cut him to his very core which is why he made his Twitter private and went completely radio silent instead of denying it and coming up with a dumb excuse like he normally does. The gay bar was a secret escape for Joe that nobody in his life knew about, not even Anthony. Reddit’s outing of Joe as a gay man has hit him much harder on a personal level than the mere cancellation of his gigs or revealing his racism or pedophilia. Joe has just hit the lowest point in his life, as everyone close to him has just discovered his deepest darkest secret. As he has been strangely silent on the internet, in reality he is facing a crisis far worse than anything he has ever faced. For once, I actually feel bad for picking on Joe.

Joe has hit rock bottom, but I firmly believe that he will get back up and embrace who he truly is eventually, and I think Reddit can help with that. Nothing would make Joe happier than a sexy guy showing up at his house ready to fuck.
