Those reasons being that he's a piece of dispicable, immature human filth and a coward who was afraid of feelies.

I wonder if his mother ever worried that he'd do the same to her, as she went dutifully and visited her sick, lonely confused mother in her last days. And if she had enough awareness left as it happened to her too.

Nothing that happens to Ant is undeserved.

Even Mr. Spock would be envious of the way that Ant consistently (and cowardly) avoids all real emotions and their triggers. Joe Sr's taunts and negging really did a number on him. Ant surrounding himself with incompetents and yes-men in the last several years haven't helped things. Only Bennington seems to have the guts to call out Ant's issues, which is why they rarely broadcast together these days.
