Long story short, a few days ago I experienced a huge lightning strike out of nowhere. It was strong enough that I actually got shocked through my head phones. Since them, I have had internet/computer problems that I'm trying to get fixed as fast as I can. I already had about 20 minutes of the video edited, so once everything is back in order, it shouldn't take too long

No. Files are fine. I thought my surge protector was decent but this was an absurdly close strike. Everything went blindly white for a second.

Ive been in a house in the country with one of those old timey woodburner stoves with a pipe up to the ceiling/roof, and it had high ceilings, and during a lightning storm it got struck and there were lightning sparks inside the house the whole way down the pipe to the burner. It was amazing and terrifying all at the same time.

That being said, get a surge protector which comes with $100k insurance for the devices attached. That basically guarantees you that your shit gets saved
