He has an animation show on Netflix so that is probably where he spent his time on. I partially agree his last special was not his best but it had its moments. Also he never said he would do a special a year if I recall. He said he would do one every two years and would come up with new material every year.
He never did a special a year. He always waited 2+ years. Louis was the one special a year guy. But Louis didn't have any specials for the first 20 years he was a comedian. So he had alot of material saved up. There's alot of ideas Louis discussed on O&A that didn't appear in his specials until 10 years later.
