Musk is a conman. Experienced traders have been making a killing in the last few months from short selling tesla, thanks to his meltdowns and horrendous management. Apparently he comes off as a gibbering wreck on Rogan. He's more of a John DeLorean than a Henry Ford - except autistic and with a pill problem.
People are making a big deal out of that but from the clip I saw, he hit the blunt, held the smoke in his mouth for a second, then blew it out. Didn't see if he ended up taking a real inhale after that but from what I saw he wouldn't have gotten high from the puff he took.
It blows my mind when people compare Tesla to Amazon. Bezos has been building Amazon for two decades now. I can't think of a single company that's as advanced, when it comes to what Amazon does. Tesla simply makes a car; there are dozens of companies that do that. Tesla's only differentiator is that they're willing to sell those cars at a loss.
They were considering firing Musk as the CEO, so I think he is doing Rogan and all these other shows to get more people to like him because his identity is crucial to the stock price.
After a torrid two years, which saw Odey's European short fund lose 20% in 2017 following a 49.5% loss in 2016, things are looking better for Odey this year, with the fund up 25.8% in the first seven months of 2018.
Yes, it can be actually. One of his funds shit the bed in the 90s after he bet against the fed. He bounced back from that and he's bouncing back from this too it seems.
In any case it seems like him betting against you is a good position to be in right now
He's been one of the world's best performing hedge fund managers this year. Just as he's been practically every year (bar 2016/17) since 2001.
Takes one hell of a conman to actually build the electric car industry from scratch and create a viable private rocket company. He's an erratic dude, but you have to be quite a dullard to try and minimize his actual accomplishments. Conmen take the money and run without delivering on any of their promises.
He's a conman because he promised investors that he could do all of these things AND make money at it. Tesla lost 700 million last quarter, their biggest loss ever. They're getting further away from that goal as time goes on, I wouldn't go near Tesla stock.
Please, give me more of your poor person with a simpleton's perspective financial insight! I'm not even a fan of Musk, but your understanding is so surface level it's embarrassing that you say anything at all.
I like how you invented a backstory about how poor I am instead of addressing my point about how Tesla is hemorrhaging money and how that will never change. How many shares can I put you down for?
God bless those government subsidies. By 2015, U.S. governments alone had given Tesla, SolarCity and SpaceX $5 billion through direct grants, tax breaks, cut-rate loans, cashable environmental credits, tax credits and rebates to buyers of his products. Counting subsidies from Canada and Europe, the government bankroll might have been as much as twice that. Counting indirect subsidies — such as electric-vehicle-friendly infrastructure — the subsidies soar ever higher.
Stock speculators made money backing him in the past because they bet that government cash injections would keep coming in. The fact that they did inflated the stock value. Anyone who tried to short Tesla even two years ago was either foolish or reckless. But his shine has worn off and the tax payers' money is going elsewhere. It was inevitable. A company can only thrive for so long when it has almost no paying customers.
Tbf - Cumia was name dropped on Alex Jones' exclusive 9 minute broadcast after Twitter banned him. Cumia does have Sue Lightning asshole heat right now
Wow, the last third or so of the interview is really awkward. Joe is not a great interviewer when the guest clams up or zones out. Overall, Musk struck me as more of a rich eccentric than a staggering genius. The media is losing its shit over how outrageous the interview was, but to me it was more meandering and vaporous. A few whiskeys and a hit of a spliff is apparently enough to send your company’s stock into a tailspin even if you’re an established kook. Much like the Nike brouhaha, it’s possible Musk’s stocks fluctuate even when he’s not in the headlines for alleged shocking behavior.

a drop-off of Elon Musk to nana would be severe enough to tear spacetime.

They both appear to be knocking back the scotch too. Whiskey and weed is always a good combination to ensure a coherent conversation.

For someone with nooo tolerance that could still be enough to send them into a paranoid hole these days with the crazy weeds you kids have

Rogan isn’t giving Musk garbage weed. One hit from someone that doesn’t smoke is plenty.

I was watching his episode and somehow Joe seems more intelligent as it progresses.

John DeLorean doesn't get enough credit, he designed the Pontiac GTO.

If Crispin Odey is betting against you and says you're finished, you've got problems.

It's not like anything new has happened, Tesla always had horrible financials, but people thought Musk was the new Edison.

A few badly timed trades can do that when you're running a fund as big as his. The guy's still a legend in the city.

She must have a golden pussy. She's transparently bad news, but all these hyper rich guys fall under her spell.

I think it's white guilt. Have you ever noticed that guys who like to get beat up by a dominatrix are always rich white guys?
White guilt.
Elon Musk is just manifesting the same thing.

I wouldn’t care for a woman with a golden pussy. I don’t care how precious a metal it is I guarantee that pussy is cold as fuck.

If your CEO starts talking about going to Mars, you might have "Sucker" tattooed on your forehead.
