Why did they all fail?

With the recent masterpiece from Porsalin on Jim just digested, I started thinking of why the remnants of the OnA staff have faired so poorly after their major success.

Some may say it is that they abandoned who they were in their heyday and could never find their way back to success.

I believe the contrary is true. They stopped innovating. Settled for good enough.

Anthony could have learned how to run his business and make something new. Instead he gave away all resposibility for his administration to an ex-cop and started discussing cultural diversity on his show, as he had done for years before.

Jim does try different projects like the VICE show and his Chip -projects, but they are rushed and poor in writing and execution. Still I was excited and enjoyed the first episodes of his Chip Chipperson podacast. I still hold the most hope for Jim to make a return to form.

Opie, of course, has charted out a new and innovative course to greatness after being betrayed by his former coworkers and management. His revolutionary podcast and twitter blue checkmark have helped bring him to his natural ceiling of success.

They blame others and each other for their failings. They do not look into their own fault in their career downfalls and try to change their behavior. They do not have their own biological children.

The b-b-b-boys never grew up

That's a lot of words.

ooooof

Be More Ergonomic

Mental illness, zero sense of self-awareness and a complete inability to take responsibility for anything ever.

They were more than the sum of their parts.

More coffee?

Yeah, coffee got to me after insomnia all night

The last funny thing to happen in O&A history was the Lady Di internship in 2014. But most would argue the show died around 2011-2012. They really started phoning it around then and ended up relying on their wack pack to call in/show up.

They got lost

Opie really was steering the ship, Anthony really was that quick and Norton really was that creative. Unfortunately being split up means these skills mean very little in entertainment without being replaced.

At least opie's skills let him create some sort of coherent show while being happy in his day to day life, if not terribly entertaining. Norton and Anthony have gone 'unchecked' and its a fucking train wreck.

I think Anthony fell the furthest though. He could have had a legitimate, powerful network but instead he relied on a 'visual element' for radio fans and would not shut the fuck up about politics/race. Just ALL THE FUCKING TIME with that shit. Between non-stop crime statistics and refusing to take a joke Anthony shot himself in the foot before they took his guns away.

I get bored by so much shit for shits sake on this sub-reddit. This is the most accurate assessment I've read.
