I think the thing that makes Anthony exceptionally ugly is that he doesn't dress age-appropriately. It's a seemingly small thing but it makes a lot of difference. For example; when Steve Buscemi is dressed as a teenager he looks grotesque. Whereas when he's dressed as Nucky Thompson he just looks like a normal guy in his late 50s. If Anthony stopped dying his shitty hair, wearing plastic teeth, and dressing like a Hey Arnold character, he'd be just another regular old man. No one would give a shit. Old men are not judged on their looks. However, when he tries to dress like a kid, it merely highlights how fucking ugly he is and it makes him stand out. He shouldn't bother.
Also that you can be in your 50's and bald with good style/well dressed. I especially don't understand why someone with pock marks wouldn't grow out their facial hair, but hey I don't groom 14 year olds so what do I know.
Wearing two shirts around the house baffles me. And you can tell they shrunk in the dryer. Stanhope and Gavin can get away with a clothing shtick but not with Nana. It's just this weird comfort to wear two meaningless shirts.
