They are riding on the emotions of making it big. That's why they think it's genius. One thing I've noticed about comedians is they have a one track mind of being bigger than life. They knife each other, pander, are petty, and neurotic to the core. The outside world moves in rotation but they think they are floating amongst civilians like rock stars. In actuality they are weird creeps everyone is sick of being around.
