Watched about of his acoustic show he posted on FB. He’s a terrible singer. Completely average guitarist for someone who has played so long. Really made me feel better about myself.
Ah, yeah that’s what I saw. He’s a terrible singer and plays guitar like someone who has played for years but never took it seriously. That he gets paid for doing this stuff should give all non-working musicians confidence to give it a shot. Apparently the standards out there are low.
He's worse than most 14-20 year olds I've ever seen playing locally. Some of them were light years ahead of him. If it was just a cover band, fine, but he bills himself like some sort of singing and guitar virtuoso, and he stinks on ice. I'd get a refund if he showed up and played, or at least would never book them again.
Yeah, I started playing when I was 15 and based on what I’ve seen I was considerably better after a couple of years. The singing though... I really can’t believe he’s actually selling himself and getting booked as a singer when he’s that bad.
No wonder he loves buying those shitty chinese knock off guitars. His tone is so compressed and overprocessed he could be strumming a string on a broom handle and it would sound the same.
I really hate that he considers himself a 'musician'.
4 seconds in you can literally hear the number of people clapping when they come on stage. I think its about 3-5 people
When he starts the first song scuttlebuttin' he fucks up the initial riff on a monumental scale. For someone that claims they've been playing their whole life and has been attempting to play this song for YEARS, he is an absolute worthless guitarist

I thought that was just me, he obviously doesn't know how to play it right since he repeats it a dozen times and it doesn't sound like the song at all.
HOLY FUCK is this bad. If you watch & listen to him play for more than a few bars, you realize he has absolutely no soul or tone to his playing. It's dry and sounds like memorized guitar tabs, his vibrato stinks up the joint.
None of the famous licks that literally thousands of cover bands play sounds like the song it's supposed to be. The Stevie Ray Vaughn song lick sounds completely wrong, and the Sunshine of Your Love solo is so off that I can't tell if he's only playing half of the notes or what. Skipped to the first Purple Haze solo, he's so far behind the beat that it made me physically uncomfortable and I had to turn it off.
I've honestly seen high school bands cover these songs at a much higher skill level.

They should rename the town ‘Waterhead’ now that Joe’s played it.

Joe can play but he plays the same shit over and over again. SRV and Hendrix is all he does.

Agreed, his tone in all of his videos is awful. He has the worst ear.
