When his coworkers get mad, he can say I just wanted to see who here cares about me, thereby angering them all so much that he won’t feel guilty when he finally does kill himself. When his bosses get mad, he can claim it was just a Kaufman bit to fuck with the audience and get attention. When the audience angrily accuses him of doing a bit, he can get pity by claiming that his depression is making him suicidal and that his anxiety overwhelms him such that he drives to work like normal but finds himself driving in circles around the block for an hour before summoning the courage to enter the building.
