Why's he got to lie about being so poor. Opie recently talked about how his house was constantly having additions because of the new kids. How can you continue to consider yourself poor if 1. your family owns a home and 2. has additions built. Even Carl called him out on it but he just brushed it off. "Bruh your family was fine, there was just a lot of you."
He was so bad at lying about growing up poor...he picked Pepperidge Farm, the most expensive store bought bread.
Also, a poor family does not have EMPTY BAGS of fucking CEMENT lying around, insipid cunt.
Yes, struggling families put $$ into sealing patios, walkways, driveways & foundation upkeep.
And brand of bread - not a big sticking point for being fawking poor . Usually matter of having "any bread or no bread"
As poor Irish, 7 other siblings, "the money from dad's last paycheck would run out by Mon/Tue... we'd usually have no meals every Wed/Th. Other days, had either breakfast or dinner. Forget both.
I'd go to bed starving at least 3-4 days/wk.
The great Hughes Family Struggles we had pepperidge farm bread (the most expensive kind), and my lunch got packed in a cement bag
He’s not just a liar, he’s a liar that assumes his audience is stupid. The Pepperidge Farm bread is one of the dumbest lies he’s said; he thinks thin slices make it “poor people’s food”, when it’s actually considered a premium product. The slices aren’t thin because it’s bargain bread, moron. Anyone who’s struggling financially would get some cheap store brand and wouldn’t even consider PF bread.

I bought that Pepperidge Farm bread a few months ago. Tit's it right, it sucks. Thin ass slices and fell apart. I didn't use the concrete bag though.

Amazing how the Hughes family couldn't afford regular grocery items when they were saving so much so much money as a tax exempt church...

I love that clip, especially when Ant asks a few questions and he starts clumsily inventing new details and tripping himself up.

They should show that clip in police academies as Exhibit A of what lying looks like.

But they got the bread from the Pepperidge Farm store and they’d get the old bread.

Well you have to eat a good lunch. You'll need your strength for when you get into a fistfight while scuba diving.
