Right. I'm sick of how new yorkers think their pizza is great. I've been. I was expecting something special. I can buy chilled pizzas at the local shop for £4 that are just as good.
That's the thing with New York. It's been saturated with "New York style" pizza places on every corner that are complete shit and mostly work as tourist traps. At best, 1 out of 10 places will actually be good.
Went to a place that most 'lists' had in their top ten. It was nice but its pizza. Its easy to do well. New York takes a weird pride in it that unless the rest of America struggles to do a pizza without vomit on is weird.
I'm not some parochial NY pizza snob. I've had good pizza in a lot of places, including the UK. But that frozen shit could come from Sainsbury's and it would still be terrible.

The biggest mistake Americans make is in overestimating Brits. Bowled over by the deliciousness of Tesco frozen pizza...

Co op chilled ones actually. Just as good as the 'best' of new York.

Its chilled bruh. Chilled. Not frozen.
Sainsburys pizzas not as nice as the co op own brands. Still both are better than any takeaway pizzas though.

I lived in the Northeast for 25 years before heading south, and Northeastern PA and Jersey have much better pizza than NY.
