The thing with Chip is that there's no way to respond to him. That's the point of the character. He pipes up and immediately stops the flow of conversation like a bullet in the head.
But that leaves the guests in an awkward position, because they have to keep coming up with material. There's really nothing they can say except ten thousand variations of "that wasn't funny, Chip!"
I like Chip but he does best with casual dudes or retards. Bobby is SO MUCH BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE. Just cause you look like Budha doesn't make you a Sage!

While we're at it, Bobs minimal effort "can't stand Chip" bit really annoys me.
