Yeah this was on the latest Tim Dillon is going to hell. The whole episode is a decent listen. Although they do talk a lot about what life of a comic is like. Nick does have a a lot more self awereness then say Kurt "fucking civilians" Metzger on this though.
In his defense, right after this he say about how about much he hates talking about this sort of thing. While Tim Dillon is praising Cum Town because it makes so much money he pretty much most of it to luck. I agree that stuff is gay as shit but out of most comics he's probably one of the least on board with that whole artist label.
Same. It's just that every time I see a thread about him here I disparage him because it always triggers a handful of faggots half to death. Cumtown have referenced this sub plenty of times, so I like to think I'm upsetting them personally or those very close to them at least. Honestly, the Cumtown fans are twice as annoying as the actual podcast itself..
I don't know how people can listen to Cum Town with that sidekick who constantly laughs like a hyena on crack. At least Nick admits that he'd punch out after six months if he was a fan. That's six months longer than I was able to tolerate it.
I tried to like Stavros because he's a Baltimore guy but he is awful. I've heard him on YKWD and a few other pods as well as Cumtown and I don't remember ever hearing him come up with something funny off the cuff like List, Normand or Ant back in the day. I hear that his standup is good though.
Plus like Opie talking you learn to completely zone out when he laughs. It's like living next to a highway in an apartment building. It just becomes background noise after a while.
I took a tally of how many affirmative interjections ("sure", "right", and of course "yeah") were thrown in just while the other person was talking. So in one 3:22 clip between two guys we have:
Right: 3
Sure: 4
Multiple "yeah"'s ("yeah-yeah", or "yeah-yeah-yeah"): 5
Noncommittal, affirmative sounds: 3
Yeah: 32
That's a total of 47 unnecessary, distracting noises.
I also took a tally of the other verbal ticks that annoyed me while they either one of them were talking. For instance the amount of times that "like" was used as a crutch or a "yeah, you know" was said:
"yeah" as a verbal tick: 7
"like" as a verbal tick: 12
noncommittal phrases like "I feel like" or "it's sort of like": 4 (probably more I started getting too angry to keep listening)
That's a total of at least 23 unnecessary words or phrases while conveying an idea.
These guys aren't great at talking and they're worse listeners. The content is awful. These two skip over the most interesting part of the conversation (Ant beating Gollum) so they can talk about the relationship between the artist and the audience. Where is the interest? Where is the funny?
Tim Dillon has Nick on just so he can beat off to it later. I bet he has a cock-cam under the table. Tim Dillon is my kind of fag. By my kind, I mean one that I would let suck my dick as a bro. No homo.

You won't ever find somebody in your life who is capable to do that for you, just sayin'.
1 bal0rd 2018-06-11
I could get somebody to do this on a podcast for a cheap Little Caesars pizza.
1 RoundImage4 2018-06-11
You don't have that kinda money.
1 i_saw_nothing 2018-06-11
But are they really that close? Will Tim be there that day, when Nick really needs him? *sniff*

Well, I'm a fan now.

I like Nick but enough of the "artist" talk already.
You're a modern day court jester who tells dick jokes. You have a podcast called "Cumtown." You didn't paint the Sistine chapel, shithead.

You build a tolerance to it over time. It's worth it for Nick. Stav also contributes some good stuff, just not on the same level as Nick.
