Explain your hatred for sam

7  2018-05-05 by Subeck

Sam definitely has his flaws (my main problem with him by far is his obsession with wrestling because i never gave a fuck about it). But to me hes not the main reason the show sucks so bad. Hes proven he can do a decent solo show on his own (sam roberts show, shit show), whereas jim clearly cant (advice show). What killed the show for me at first was the constant terrible guests and lack of comic friends that came on, and the callers. Then, it was the lack of chemistry between sam and jim. I really had high hopes for the show in the beginning, i cant believe it turned out to be this bad.

You gays keep saying he did a decent solo show because you know nobody is going to go back and listen to it to prove you're wrong.

Not saying it was amazing. Ive listened to a handful of sam roberts shows with whoo kid as the cohost and it was fine. 1000000 times better than jim and sam. Jim is so fucking lazy now; i dont think he can do a good show with anyone at this point.

I think its hard to be enthusiastic when your cohost is going to act incredulous to every story where someone says something vaguely shocking or if someone says kanye isnt a big deal or shoe collecting is gay

I heard his solo show and it was way worse than J&S. Lots more wrestling talk and Sam pretending like he's cool. The only thing good that ever happened was he was dropping in dassabesdo a few days after Sherrod said it.

This is retarded. Let’s say one of them was to be replaced by Ant or Bobby or Soder or someone who is genuinely hilarious and great at radio. Who do you think could be replaced and leave a better product?

I’m sure “Sam ‘The Last Great Broadcaster’ Roberts and Anthony” would be way better than “Jimmy and Anthony”.

Jimmys finished. Theres no way he can do a good show with anyone anymore. Sam is doing the best he can, which obviously isnt enough because all of his ideas have really sucked.

He's horrible in every way. The show is an awful attempt to be mid-90s Howard Stern with staff drama with every staff member a character on the show with a dumb nickname, plus porn star interviews and radio games. But he sucks at all of those.

Jim is certainly a problem because he's the worst he's ever been and clearly there just to get paid rather than wanting to be entertaining. So I'm in no way defending that faggot. But Sam is steering the ship and the bad ideas are clearly his.

And his laugh is maddening. He does not have a voice for radio, he was meant to be a behind the scenes guy. He's also pretty stupid and has no charisma.

Are those enough reasons?

I agree. I think sam should have stuck with just doing pop culture like he did on the sam roberts show. The staff shit is really forced, and none of them have any personality. I never minded him on O&A at all, even in the later years. I guess i just dont hate him as much as everyone else here does.

I do agree people are too easy on Jim. But every idea that's hated, from the awful show opening to Mary Jean to Shitloaf boring segments to him babbling about wrestling were all Sam's ideas. I know he's hurt by not being able to do pop culture stuff anymore, and if he does he has to explain it to Jim first which kills the segment. But he still isn't good at anything he's attempting.

The interns were good when he was in charge of hiring them, but now they pick regular people with radio dreams AND qualifications instead of freakshow messes

Sam relinquished control of the board for an episode or two thinking everyone would enjoy listening to Jim struggle. It was kind of silly for a couple shows. Now we are months into "the bit" and Jim still responds to what the phone screener has written before the audience even knows what the statement is. The show would be much better if Sam gets back on the board.

What's wrong about that in particular? Ususally phrases it something like, "Good point, Mike in Ohio," when Mike is an absolute retard. Now, it would be nice if ironic quips wasn't all he did, but it's fine to make fun of the dumb callers, imo.

His hair, sneaks, voice , diet and the fact I never got to bugger him when he was a delicious man/boy bouncing quarters off his cock.

That was a terrible fucking post. Go sip on formaldehyde you degenerate.

He refuses to eat like an adult. That alone trumps everything else/. He could be the most talented broadcaster in the world and I would despise him for spitting steak out of his mouth.

I don’t blame Sam nearly as much as the sub wants to. I was a big Special Delivery fan, so I know Sam is capable of doing a funny, interesting show. But he was hungrier then. Nowadays, he just seems to have settled into a comfort zone and doesn’t try as much. I haven’t listened in forever, but the guest list alone tells you both Jim and Sam just take turns masturbating for the audience.

He really should not get comfortable. Radio is going to die any day now. And supposedly the new york times is about to release an article destroying siriusxm. Sam will most likely end up on compound, in obscurity.

Big mistake on Jim and Sam’s part. Then again, they might be doing wrestling segments to set Sam up for a WWE fallback gig.

His lack of any basic useful knowledge, he has no idea how to change tire on his car. If its wrestling, sneakers, shit music he's all in

Yes. He busts on interns and those below him but cant change a tire.

Not saying the interns and others dont deserve some of the shit they get but...sam has little room to talk when he cant eat normal food, plays like hes too cool when it comes to drinking, and he doesnt know how to change a tire.

I also dont think he was as mischevious and assertive as he claims to be when he was younger....especially with his obsessive mother.

He's one note and it's not a pleasant one which makes him worthless being anything above 4th mic in a crowded room. I didn't hate him when he was on the show all that much, his smug sarcasm worked in that dysfunctional setting in small doses but anything above that is an automatic pass. I always skip the pre/after show when listening to old clips and anything I've heard from J&S is a bore.

I guess most people here hate him because of his smugness since it's completely unfounded but given how everyone from the show has turned out that doesn't warrant any specific hatred for me, they're all unlikable frauds at this point.

Nigga calls 911 to change a tire.

The space between the bottom of his nose and his upper lip is about 17 miles. The image of his crushed glass teeth and baboon mouth accepting dino nuggies is too much.

imagine the line of capable non awful sounding educated and experienced broadcasters going out the door and onto the street applying for his job

and imagine sam roberts with his professional broadcaster jacket inside the studio laughing like a fucking dolphin and broadcasting to the only audience he cares about, his close friends and family.

if siriusxm is the major leagues, sam right now is maybe a single A pitcher sitting in the seat where roger clemens should be.

coaches dont give a single flying fuck and do not have the abilty to care because they are a car monopoly.

heres hoping for elon musk to launch his own network one day godspeed.

He’s ugly, boring, untalented, uninformed, and has an annoying voice. That about sums it up.

His confidence level is directly disproportionate to his appearance, talent, personality and skill level.

He’s smug & dismissive, but not nearly talented enough to back it up.

Talks down to Norton on a regular basis & dominating the show with topics that Jim obviously isn’t interested in (sneakers & Kanye).

Exposed as an idiot that doesn’t know anything except wrestling. Constantly pronounces basic words incorrectly.

Started with WWE around the same time as Rosenberg, who now frequently panels & hosted his own show. Sam’s role has diminished to occasional crowd mic. And he fucked that up on the biggest show of the year.

Recently announced that the staff isn’t allowed to make conversation with him off the air. Like he’s Howard fucking Stern.

It’s all going to end badly just like O&J did.

Ew he actually said the staff cant talk to him off air and wasnt joking?

He doesn’t like small talk. They’re allowed to ask him specific questions only.

He got the slightest bit of power & immediately started acting like a cunt.

I hate Sam's entire existence.

His shoe collecting. His love of "hip hop culture." His admiration for Kayne West. He sets up a clip, lets it play for 0.2 seconds, stops it, and then rambles on in an unfunny way for 10 minutes (then repeats). His cackle. His unjustified self-confidence. His arrogance. His ill-informed and mostly incorrect worldview.

The nicest thing I've heard about Sam's on-air talent ever said is the oft-repeated term "shit-stirrer"

(Sounds a lot like "ship-steerer", is what I would say if I were a frog muppet sipping tea)

But I digress. Who fucking cares about how he made Bobo call an intern the n-word in 2009? That was barely entertaining live and it's dumb as hell now. Sam is a lumberhead who acts like a child and says nothing interesting. He repeats what he's heard and thinks he's great. Dogshit human being.
