To the best of my knowledge their idea was to have an O&A cruise event where they and a bunch of the regulars would go and perform/broadcast etc. Anyway... SiriusXM liked the idea but said they, O&A, would have to pay the company $350,000 to do it. It was also at a time where Tim Sabien was trying to convince them to move to afternoons. Norton and Ant were particularly furious at this.
So the quote in question is actually Norton asking if they can move Ant’s equipment into the city. The quote is often(always) taken out of context. He said something like “Let’s just leave in A year. I’m not even bluffing anymore. Let’s just leave and start a podcast. Everyone is telling us to start a podcast”. Then to Ant “You’re set up that you have can you.... can you get podcast equipment into the city?” That’s not verbatim but it’s pretty damn close. Norton had been on enough podcasts to know that you can do a podcast from anywhere.
The actual quote is in one of these two clips. I took a couple mins and skimmed but didn’t find it. It’s there though.
It's very telling how completely oblivious and aloof that idiot is, and he has to constantly has to expound on topics and pontificate to give the illusion he's above average intelligence.
