Yup. Instead they prioritized the faggy romance no one cared about and it ruined the whole show. Should have been one and done and ended with a bang or turned into an anthology series with Saul as the secret main character a la Tommy Lee Jones in No Country For Old Men. Or it could have continued with Carrie but been more about the ups and downs of dealing with an unstable but dedicated and talented agent. Instead they went with the worst choice which was s heesy soapy network tv like romance plot line. Unacceptable story telling for a supposed prestige premium cable series. I remember listening at the time to the creators justifying it as some epic romance with magical chemistry exploding off the screen. I couldn’t figure out how they could be so wrong about why their show was great. It may have just been some false narrative they created in response to pressure from the network to keep Damian Lewis instead of killing him off. He should have been Ned Stark’d But the creators genuinely seemed to believe that horseshit about the Carrie-Brody story. Pissed me off. Gave up on the show soon thereafter.
