I just started watching/listening to random clips on youtube like 2 years ago. The early satellite and Artie shows are pretty decent. A lot of those have a visual element in the Howard TV show. The late 80s and 90s Howard are better, from what I've listened to. Stern fans are a lot like O&A fans in that there's always at least someone archiving everything.

Just listen to when Stern was on E! and On Demand when the show would be filmed. This is also concurrent to when Artie joined and left the show.

(Maybe my perspective is off because I was always a casual listener at best, and haven't listened regularly-ish since before he got on satellite.
