Covino and Rich just got renewed for 2 years. Should the Jim and Sam Show be renewed?

So what is the purpose of Jim and Sam now that Covino and Rich got renewed? You know, if you're Jim and Sam you might be thinking, "If they'll renew Covino and Rich, they'll renew anything. This show isn't any good, but its at least as good as NUSSIE RADIO."

From the SXM standpoint, is it? For whatever reason, perhaps just ego keeping them from admitting they made a very poor judgment on talent with Covino and Rich, they're still on the air. They exist as their own show. Its not Third Mic and the Intern in the Morning. I can see this show having a reason to be on the air 6 years from now. Does Jim and Sam have that reason? Opie and Anthony fan retention when that show went off the air when Obama was president? I don't think that is very compelling.

You can get them to start at 6 instead of 8. I'm sure the DUDEBROS won't act like the Sleep Apnea kid and bullshit about the west coast. They'll just do those hours. They'll give you 6 to 10 for a lower price and won't bitch about it.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Jimmy got the Opie treatment and got shanghai'd to a later timeslot. He's adamant about mornings and if they say, "Middays or beat it, your pick," the WB Vulture will fly the coop. Then you have Sam Roberts doing his scintillating combo of Entertainment Weekly, WWE shit in kayfabe like its 1993 and cornball-brotha mainstream wiggerism that would shame Michael Rappaport.

This show might be off the air sooner than you think.

Yes they’re getting renewed. Sirius has a lot of air time to fill, these two provide boring, and safe, radio at a relatively cheap price for producing a radio show. They’re content with just cashing their checks and not rocking the boat and that’s fine for all parties involved.

It sucks for us who would rather see something that resembles entertainment but that’s not in the cards for Jum Nerten & Opie Roberts.

I do agree that Josh Nordren and Opie Jr. are big favorites for a renewal. 80+ percent. But there is the possibility of a time slot change because Jason Ellis or Covino and Rich get the morning slot (10 percent) and then there's just them telling to pack it up and get lost (5 percent).

I think the reason to retain them might make more sense if Anthony and Opie didn't get fired for what they got fired for. Jimmy is a sexual degenerate time bomb. He's a fiasco waiting to happen.

I can’t imagine a time frame outside of like midnight-3am that they could move Jem Nordstrum & Opie Roberts to that would make them walk away. Where else would these 2 go? They have very little leverage.

Jem may be a sexual deviant but he’s become such a good little corporate boy that he stifles all of that on air.

Safe being the key word. The worm is scared shitless of saying anything that even hints at being non-inclusive . Shock jock radio replaced by timid, socially acceptable banter. There's nothing risky keeping them. He's not going to rail against blacks on Twitter or sexually harass coworkers on video. And Sam was always too milquetoast to do or say anything interesting enough to be against the grain.

Should they be? No, of course not. But if Jocktober taught us anything, it was that radio is not an industry that punishes the talentless. People with, surprisingly, much less charisma and charm than Jim and Sam have decades-long careers in radio because it's the easiest fucking thing in the world to do a mediocre job at.
