The Greenscreen on Ant's Show Gives me a Headache

There's something so stomach turning about how this gaudy wop tries special-effecting normalcy to look better to him than it really does that makes me want to have him shoot the rest of his computers so full of bullets he'll just be left to be discovered as a drunk skeleton as far as history is concerned.

I used to think the same thing but after I watching the Chip podcast I realised it’s just Ant’s face that was turning my stomach.

You don't like the simulated framed childhood photos on the simulated brick walls with the simulated windows overlooking one of the tallest buildings in New York City?

It looks like a grade school child's crayon drawing. No sense of perspective or depth, things in the background are just as focused as the foreground.
Their graphics guy seems like a Photoshop wizard or something. I wonder if he could throw a blur on the city background to make the visual more like how actual human being eyes work.

Maybe they should have gone to Rockstar to get some guys from Lazlow?

Or maybe just, research and experiment until you reach the desired result. There are plenty of green screen shows that don't look as awful as this does.

Would you say that he is the "George Lucas" of podcasting?

To be fair, (and I know you'll all shit on me for this) that studio gets a lot of use - not only all the compound programs, but he rents it out to other shows too. It would be dumb to have 10-20 shows in the same exact room, when each one could have their own set using just one room. Its definitely smart from a business standpoint, the only downside is CGI keying instead of a physical set. I also think it robs the show of fluid guest interaction, I can't imagine being very comfortable in a big plain green room.
