Every America sitcom revolves around rich nuclear families. The father has a steady career, the mother is a domestic goddess and the 2.4 kids are wholesome.
Rosanne changed the genre by showing a waitress who had to give up her dreams of being a writer and her family life revolving around a pizza box filled messy kitchen. Married with Children is the only other example I can think of but Rosanne managed to mix adult drama with comedy perfectly.
I wish her nothing but the best and hope her new show is a success.
It will be, it feels like the early seasons of the original show already. There's some new stuff but that's to be expected and shouldn't greatly upset you unless you are a faggot.
