Real Question: How does DeepDiscount make money / stay in business ?

12  2018-03-26 by SlimWiggins

A very small percentage of people still actually buy hard copies of movies/music.. it MIGHT make sense if their prices were really cheap.. but everything they sell can be bought cheaper and faster from Amazon Prime..

And DeepDiscount seems to spend a lot of money on advertising on podcasts..

How the hell are they making any money?

AnthonyCumiaCM pays them to be allowed to read their ads. He wants to sound a legitimate show with sponsors.

Your right. A small amount of the population are still into physical media. However a small amount of the population works out to be a fuckload of people. And like most intelligent people they go where they can get the best price. I’m sure that website does quite well for themselves.

That makes sense.. but I was looking at the prices, and everything they have is cheaper on Amazon (and probably Walmart & EBay also).

Oh I feel you. Initially when I only knew them as doing Ant’s show I figured they were doing bootlegs. Not sure though.

It might be cheaper but they like to do this thing where they don’t ship anything you’ve purchased. They’re niggers. They like to sneak around on eBay and fuck you that way too.

They have good deals on records occasionally. Amazon is usually lower than everybody, but they have a good sale every now and then.

I’m willing to bet a majority of the old, fuddy-duddy conservatives who listen to shit on Compound Media still purchase DVDs.

language!

There's also a good possibility that they price themselves higher than Amazon and other places because they have no physical inventory and just buy stuff from Amazon whenever they get an order and ship it directly to the customer. Believe it or not, there are many sites that do this. It would also explain why they have so many issues with shipping if they aren't actually fulfilling orders themselves.

im sure a lot of store got had to get rid of a lot of dvd's and blu rays that they werent able to sell, so they buy them really cheap and re-sell them. And its probably not very expensive to advertise on the fucking chip podcast and the compound network

But if that’s the case then why the fuck would Compound even do it? It just annoys people who are already paying for the content

Deep Discount pays CM $700,000/year for ads which also happens to cover Artie's salary

I hear that they sell pirated DVDs as real ones.

So they are basically the online version of the African who pesters you to be his shitty dvds off the side of the road.

Deep discount is clearly a front

I was seriously thinking this too.. I mean look at the website.. it doesn’t even look professional.

i was at target the other day and i saw The Emoji Movie for $22 on DVD.

Think about that, the worst movie of last year, in last decade's format, for more than 3 months of netflix.

I can only assume the elderly and infirm make purchases like this.

I love collecting movies, but what backwards slapdick still buys DVD?

If you're that broke, you shouldn't buy movies, purriod.

Target went to this strange business practice about a year ago, I never buy movies their for that reason. Overpriced and outdated hipster grocery-pushing fuckers.

It's most likely a money laundering operation for hire.

Deep Discount is literally the most expensive place to buy dvd/blu rays...

Use the Promo code, maaaaaaan!

I love their pathetic advertising copy that Anthony and Bobby struggle to sell with a straight face. Streaming ALWAYS freezes up! Watch the movie when you want! Have the movie in your hands forever!

It’s better business rating is a D- so why does Anthony keep saying how amazing it is? He must believe in it to peddle that shit to people who fucking pay to watch his show right?

You think it costs a lot of money to advertise on CM or chips podacast?

Still reaping valuable memebux from the time they were the leak of the final harry potter book

They buy DVD's from Amazon and resell them at a higher price

I buy albums (records) from them occasionally. I know a lot of other people do as well. Never bought a movie though, only vinyl.

A lot of their stuff on vinyl is $10 cheaper than Amazon or Discogs. I bought a pretty rare Aphex Twin gatefold from them for $15.

I actually bought an LP from them recently since it was the cheapest price on the internet after the 15% shit. took like 2 fuckin weeks to get here but it was legit; not warped
