Put on your tin foil hats for a second. Tranth has always portrayed himself as a disloyal, amoral asshole in all his dealings. So why would he continue giving his brother pocket money based on a deal they made decades ago? Hush money. No way that the guy that couldnt be bothered to visit his dying mother is honoring a promise he made to Joe, especially after finding out he trashed him on here, for honorable reasons. Joe must have witnessed some heinous shit at ths compound and this is Tranths way of buying his loyalty. And while we're sniffing the thermite paint this could explain why he keeps dolt leeches like Keith around as well. They all saw the monster of the compound and are being paid off to keep quiet.
