Goodfellas is objectively better, but I like Casino better - more Pesci; plus whenever i'm making stupid decisions with a woman, when i'm alone i'll turn to my cat and say "I fucked up Frankie. I fucked up good this time."

Shoulda never fucked with this broad

I'm in the (very unpopular) Casino camp. Mainly because of DeNiro's suits.
Both are excellent though.
1 BigGreenYamo 2018-03-19
I love Goodfellas, but I worked in a theater when Casino was out. I just have some really good memories associated with Casino.
Plus, James Woods is awesome.

Have you seen this? I think you'll dig it.
1 PassProtect15 2018-03-19
I have! Badly want to frame that in my house

Who else could pull off a bright orange suit?
1 deanthecleanmachine 2018-03-19
thats a tough one man

Watched both last weekend with someone who was seeing them for the first time. Both agreed that casino was better. Goodfellas for some reason didn’t hold up as well for me.

Goodfellas is perfect whereas Casino is excellent. There is a difference. Goodfellas wins.
1 Kim_Jung_pUn 2018-03-19
Goodfellas, but it's pretty close.
1 ImDyingOvaHere 2018-03-19
u/Guinness525, what are your thoughts on this?
1 SamRobertsSucks 2018-03-19
It’s not even close. Goodfellas is much better. Mean Streets, Goodfellas and Casino are like a trilogy that highlights where he was at in his career. Mean Streets was the calling card, the messier movie you make when you’re young, haven’t fully honed your craft but have a ton of shit from your childhood you want to unload. Goodfellas is Scorsese in his prime, at the top of his game, fully developed and disciplined as a filmmaker. Casino felt more like a late prime movie, as if he could do these mob movies in his sleep but was a little bored with them so it was a little sloppier, more experimental, not as inspired.
1 Dr-Seepage 2018-03-19
Still great though
1 Slateski 2018-03-19
Mean Streets shits all over Goodfellas, frankly. Way bettef.
1 Slateski 2018-03-19
Whoever down voted that has no knowledge of cinema, but plenty of knowledge of taking D in their A.
Mean Streets is the blueprint for nearly everything good about Scorcese (And absolutely everything good about Tarantino, for better or worse).
1 Slateski 2018-03-19
Not only that, but it also clearly inspired Opie in his fight with Jim: https://youtu.be/Ag9zbMV5URM?t=130
1 Dannyprecise 2018-03-19
Never heard of Mean Streets
1 Slateski 2018-03-19
Really? Then you, my friend, are in for a treat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtAl0bXSmzI

Get this through your head you Jew motherfucker, you. You only exist out here because of me. That's the only reason. Without me, you, personally, every fuckin' wise guy skell around'll take a piece of your fuckin' Jew ass. Then where you gonna go? You're fuckin' warned. Don't ever go over my fuckin' head again. You motherfucker, you.
I still gotta go +1 for Goodfellas.
1 redtheftauto 2018-03-19
Every scene of goodfellas had a purpose for advancing the plot and they all masterfully flowed into the next. Each new scene is like "oh fuck it's this great one now". Where as casino felt a little more loose and not as flowy
They're both amazing of course, pesci is extremely quotable, but I agree goodfellas is the better movie
1 satanssockpuppet 2018-03-19
Goodfelllas, of course. Casino is "Goodfellas-Vegas Holiday" and The Departed is "Goodfellas-Beantown Surprise".
Casino is pretty funny though, especially Sharon Stone's incredibly hammy performance.
1 stinkypussay 2018-03-19
Sharon stone was the weak link in the movie.. every other character was great
1 satanssockpuppet 2018-03-19
It's a good movie, no doubt. But man, she is laugh out loud funny in that thing, especially when she's not supposed to be. The scene near the end where she's staggering down the hallway grabbing at the walls never fails to break me up.
1 The_Sharpie_Is_Black 2018-03-19
This was the only film where she was acting decently. If you think she was bad in this you should see how terrible she is in all her other films.
1 Friend_of_Kramer 2018-03-19
Casino
1 RacksDiciprine 2018-03-19
Goodfellas is a better overall movie but Pesci in Casino is better than any other character in either movie. I fast forward almost all of the love story at this point tho.
1 Fagghouli 2018-03-19
Goodfellas is overrated. Godfather 3 is better.
1 TravisBickle1990 2018-03-19
Tell us how you really feel...
1 Fagghouli 2018-03-19
No, i'm not a faggot who talk about feelings.
1 shimshammcgraw 2018-03-19
Sharon Stone's endless sobbing, in and out of every door in no time is amazing.
1 Sternacthegreat 2018-03-19
Casino I can rewatch more often than Goodfellas now. If you asked me 10-15 years ago, they'd swap places. I find Casino the more even film.
1 CokeFloatsInMaCup 2018-03-19
Goodfellas.
Can't wait to get disappointed by the Irishmen because he had to use those old farts now. Could've made a fuckin epic.
1 UninterestedFooting 2018-03-19
You made me pop your facking eyeball out fer Charlie M?!?!?
1 rawkfawk 2018-03-19
Casino. Goodfella's is kind of cheesy tbh.
1 Cumia_Box 2018-03-19
Goodfellas is actually shit. I remember Casino being good. But Goodfellas is fucking grating to watch. I even loved it on my first watch.
1 jaghutgathos 2018-03-19
Any movie with Don Rickles > Any movie without Don Rickles.
1 grocery_man 2018-03-19
Definitely Goodfellas. I like Casino but it does drag at some points.
1 edfromla 2018-03-19
I’ve seen Goodfellas more times but Casino is better and fucking ruthless
1 satanssockpuppet 2018-03-19
(Ray Liotta voice over) "I was getting concerned, as Ant was tweeting a lot. But Jimmy wasn't worried, he was making good money from the Pittsburgh gigs and he told me not to worry, that Ant would probably just drink himself to sleep and stop tweeting in a few hours. Then he turned up in Manhattan with his camera..."
1 catshitinmyurethra 2018-03-19
Fuck you, pay me.
1 joecoglucci 2018-03-19
Call in to the AA show and ask them. They will recap both movies for you.... even if you dont call in
1 joeybeans12 2018-03-19
Goodfellas is the better film, but Casino is more fun.
1 The_Sharpie_Is_Black 2018-03-19
What pissed me off about casino was how Robert de niros character stayed with his wife no matter what she did.
Bull fucking shit. They should have had a scene where they whacked the bitch.
1 leedsjr 2018-03-19
But it was pretty much what actually happened between Lefty Rosenthal and his wife.
1 timallenonacid 2018-03-19
Where we at with the departed?
1 The_Sharpie_Is_Black 2018-03-19
One thing that slightly ruins Goodfellas Is whenever there is conflict , Henry always trys to break it up like "woah woah guys come on!". He's always shocked when something bad happens haha.
1 cib02 2018-03-19
For me, personally, it's Casino. Though, I'd agree that Goodfellas was the better written one; I just like the 'love story' of Ginger and Ace more lmao. It was so over the top dramatic that it was so damn entertaining. Plus, the soundtrack—I just prefer Casino's soundtrack to Goodfellas. With that said, LOVED both movies, but for me, Casino left a deeper impression on me.
1 Zach86 2018-03-19
That was a great music video
