I wasn't sure what I hated about this subreddit so much, it just filled me with unspeakable contempt. I figured it out finally.

You're all fucking faggots. Or to be more precise: you're all jealous fucking faggots.

Picture this, a guy in his late teens early twenties, commuting to his minimum wage dead-end job. He tunes into O&A and laughs along with them as they skewer the losers and shitheels of society. Obviously he's not a loser - he's going to college, getting laid, having fun. He has his whole life ahead of him.

Later, once he drops out of college and is still stuck in his shit job, something changes. O&A just isn't so funny anymore. As he watches his hair thin and wasteline expand, he feels that something has gone terribly wrong - not with his life of course, he's not a loser, not one of them. No it's obviously the show.

I mean, why should Anthony enjoy all this success and wealth as he toils at Kroger's as a bagger. He's just as funny, just as clever, just as witty. With a great voice, too. And he's way more handsome than Anthony - sure he could stand to lose a few dozen pounds but he'll get on it.

He doesn't get on it. He gets fatter and older and suddenly he realizes they're not laughing with him, they're laughing at him.

But to stop listening to the show would be the ultimate admission of defeat in his eyes. After all he's not a loser. So he goes from a fan to a hate-listener of the show. Fuck Opie! Fuck Anthony! Fuck Jimmy! If only the world could see how much funnier he is. But people are too simple to appreciate his talents. Fuck them too!

So he continues, like a hungry ghost, with his earbuds and his third generation iPhone, to listen to the show. After all, things are gonna change soon for him. Things are gonna change. He tells himself as he slides a box of Fruit Loops into a paper bag.
