The thing about Dr. Steve - and I've thought about this for a while - is that he's a guy whose brain is wired to be a doctor, but is weird enough to talk to anyone. He's not an autistic robot, which most doctors are (not all, but most). He can hang, and can appreciate humor enough to bounce off others, without trying to command the room or withdraw and highly filter what he's saying to the only people he thinks will understand what he's saying. He's an enthusiastic man, who is down to talk to everyone with the same excited energy.

But I think the problem with him is that maybe he's just a touch naive, in that he was looking for humanity - on and off the air - from people WHO ARE NOT CAPABLE OF IT: O&A&J. He was a fan of the bbboys, and thought he had the inside horse on how to work with them. He's was powerfully wrong about that, because his own excitement about his relationship with them, blinded him to the fact of how truly self involved and inhuman these three men are and how much of a dead-end street it is, in hoping to have a healthy relationship with them.
