Opie, upon seeing No Country for Old Men the first time, thought it was "alright" and gave it three stars.

Of course after acting too cool for the room, saying it was just okay, he makes a 180 when Patrice and the rest of the studio rave about it.

I hate him.

I really appreciate the link and timestamp to the show when this was said.

It's on the 12 hour Patrice movie compilation.

Have fun.

"He plays the same fawkin' guy in every movie!" Opie, on every actor that ever existed

Opie is the kind of dolt who is instantly fooled when a limited range comedic actor grows facial hair to do their serious actor drama. "Did you guys see that new Ashton Kutcher movie! Faaaaawk!"

Cut...cher, Coo...cher, Whats his name Sam?

Oh shit.. Is that real? If so it's the first one I've seen listed that got by me

“He takes me owdda every fawkin movie he’s in”

Housewives of New Jersey re-runs bring on take opie out of movies

He thought Steve Carrel sucked. He expressed that multiple times.

Steve Carrel who played one of the all time comedic TV characters and has since been nominated for Oscars.

Meanwhile Opie looks like a homeless man and is jobless.

he was great in the Office and ok as Brick but I don't really think hes that funny too.

Nah hes funny

He was pretty good in The Big Short too.

"I'm not sayin' Daniel Day-Lewis is a bad actor, y'know? I'm just sayin' he plays Daniel Day-Lewis in EVERY SINGLE MOVIE."

Christian Bale plays the same Faaawkin guy. Cant watch Dark Knight without seeing the fawwwkin American Psycho

Yup...last I remember Dopie on any movie it was Wolf of Wall Street, and Leonardo Dicaprio "plays Leonardo Dicaprio in every movie, it took me out of it"

I thought it was a little familiar as the same opinion he has ever had on any movie

He also once said, I think on the "Grapefather" clip, that Brando was overrated because Jim could do an impression of him....

Ironic thing is if he was still on the radio and they mentioned No Country it would be, "Wow! That was __ years ago?!?! What a great movie!" Total cunt.

"Fawwwk I got to go back and watch that" - Opie's contribution after sitting quietly during every movie discussion.

He's like the kid who's parents didn't let them watch South Park, so he had to absorb bits via osmosis and pretend he "forgot" certain details.

Fuck you

Even if he has never seen or heard of this.

Why is is so hard to just say “oh yeah never saw that”

Because in Opie's head he believes if he says that then the guest will think he's not cool

"I gotta check that ouuuut."

And sitting dumbfounded during every political discussion and sitting speechless during every discussion about race...etc., etc.

Pretty much any discussion that doesn't involve some shitty celebrity reality show.

"bewildered"

like a conversational I.O.U.

what a worthless imbecile!

Whenever Ant & Jim would do lines from "Fargo", Opie would always bring up what he felt was his amazingly perceptive take on that movie. Despite his girl not seeing this, Opie figured out that "Fargo", even though it's classified as a drama, actually has a lot of comedy in it, too! He had the same revelation when he saw "About Schmidt" and congratulated himself for getting what he was sure went over the rest of the theater audience's head. Every time he'd say this on O&A he'd sell it like he discovered syncing Dark Side of the Moon to The Wizard of Oz and everyone would immediately put him on the pay no mind list.

That DSOTM analogy perfectly describes this dunce. He has got to have genuine autism.

"It was no 'The Muppets', which I loved, cause I have a son."

"I'm a fawkin fathurrr now. I can't watch that SHIT anymore."

At least Opie watched it. Sam only watches the features with WWE men or movies about The Room.

Opie typically isn't a fan of movies that he has to think about - at all.

Listen to Louis discuss The Pianist with O&A. As soon as Louis mentions it's a French film with subtitles Opie says "You have to read during the movie? Fawk dat reading shit."

He's the luckiest idiot I know

Opie embraced early 90's teen slacker culture as a man in his 30's and never outgrew it.

That's basically Opie in a moron nutshell.

The Pianist is not French, you're probably thinking about The Piano Teacher.

I knew I fucked up somewhere, definitely wasn't a Polanski film.

“The Piano Teacher” and 2 minutes later he says he goes to the artsy cinema.

The lead up to that was the best part of it. Opie was talking about hating slow movies, Louis complaining about how slow is a problem if you are an idiot, then all of sudden Opie likes art cinema.

Opie: Subtitles?

Louis: Yeah.

Opie: You have to read?

Louis: Yes.

Opie: Fuck that reading shit!

NO ONE ACKNOWLEDGES OPIE'S ANTI-LITERACY STANCE AND LOUIS GOES STRAIGHT INTO DESCRIPTION OF THE MOVIE. AFTER LOUIS TALKS ABOUT THE MOVIE:

Opie: People are saying the movie was brilliant but very slow. I guess that was the walking around part.

Louis: Yeah, if you're an American retard that watches Mel Gibson movies it's slow. If you fucking take a breath and stop watching Hulk Hogan's fucking show you might enjoy life.

AFTER LOUIS LASHES OUT AT "THE PEOPLE" AND ANT MAKES A POINT ABOUT IMMERSION IN A FILM BASED ON WHAT LOUIS SAID EARLIER SO OPIE TOSSES OUT THIS:

Opie: I go to the artsy theater so I totally get that. Alright, I'm learning about something I would have never learn about.

AFTER ANT SAYS LOUIS' DESCRIPTION HAS NOW MADE HIM WANT TO SEE THE MOVIE, SOMEBODY NEEDS TO TOP HIM:

Opie: I'm gonna' go fucking see that today!

Yes, Opie is pure cancer, but fuck that pretentious shitbag Louis, too.

Opie is too stupid to have real opinions on anything. he just takes the side he feels like he’s supposed to, based on people he knows and people he’s around. He isn’t smart enough to forumulate solid meaningful opinions on anythung and he’s too insecure to stand by his opinions even if he had them.

I remember someone on the show said Jay Mohr loves Buddy Hacket, and then you hear Opie announce “I like da buddy hacket.” Because you know Opie is a student of vintage comedy, and is always referencing Buddy Hacket and his work, right?

Right on.

I go deep with the Hacket.

I do love Buddy Hacket. I seriously do. Truss me. TRUSS me.

Gregg Hughes: "I mean it was alright. It's no Pearl Harbor." sniff

When Opie went on a rant about gay scenes in Game of Thrones I wanted to peel his skin off.

I like a good viciously homophobic rant that borders on psychosis out of nowhere every once in a while, but it was so apparent that he was trying to get everyone else in the room to go "YEAH OPIE, BRILLIANT OBSERVATION, I WANTED TO SEE MORE GIRLS NAKED IN MY DRAGON RAPE MIDGET SHOW, FUCKIN' GOO GOBBLAS".

I'M A MANS MAN GUYS GAY STUFF MAKES ME UNCOMFORTABLE

Is that what inspired him to make How to Chain Your Dragon? They say that the best art often comes from pain.

He did the same thing when Louis C.K. made fun of Gap and in the movie you see a guy in his underwear and opie just goes “Oh now there’s a naked guy! What the fuck dude?!” Like he’s such a hetero that a guy just in his underwear is like “Oh come on ya homo! Right guys!?”

That was one of those infernal "set o' nice tits" quotes wasn't it?

You know it. As Louis is accurately pointing out why the movie is garbage on all film making levels, Opie throws in “Ya had an opportunity to let us see a nice set o’ tits and you didn’t even do that right”

HOW DOES IT FEEL, FUCKER?!

Bravo.

Gregg Opie Hughes - this is not a man capable of a coherent, intelligent thought on his own.

When he's seen some form of art that is truly brilliant, he has to be told by someone else it was genius - someone who is usually the most respected, intelligent person in the room.

i.e. Patrice, Colin Quinn, Ronnie B.

What a surface-level, thin-skinned, shithead buffoon. He is the eppy'toam of a sociopathic boob.

And once he's told, his only contribution is, "Bravo"

Opie has had two movie opinions I agree with.

1) Unbreakable wasn't bad but could have been better.

2) The trailer for Avatar the Last Airbender looked dumb.

Did Opie have any insight about Unbreakable, or was he being the cool guy with a different opinion?

He actually took opinions that Patrice and Anthony had. He said it could have been good but they ruined it, but then changed it to wasn’t bad to it was pretty good but not perfect.

Poster, listening to an 11 year old radio bit, posts about it on a subreddit.

As opposed to the new O&A material?

i read that in harvey keitel voice for some reason

And here you are

"COME ONN!! WHERE'S THE FREAKIN' SOUNDTRACK?!?!?!"

There is so much subtext in that movie that it doesn't surprise me that Opie didn't care for it.

The only movie I've ever watched immediately after watching it the first time.

i would agree with his assessment

I can't listen to old shoes anymore because he just sticks out so bad.

Remember when he claimed that when him and Jimmy met Bill Cosby, he got a creepy vibe from him? Jim did not seem to be "all in" with this assessment.

he was great in the Office and ok as Brick but I don't really think hes that funny too.

I do love Buddy Hacket. I seriously do. Truss me. TRUSS me.
