I'll catch shit for this, and I don't mean to sound like a hipster, but I knew of him back in his Derrick comedy days and had his entire rap catalogue downloaded and was a huge fan of his. I even saw him in what was like an experimental comedy/rap concert show he was doing as he was just catching heat and becoming noticed as a rapper. It was like a test run for his eventual rap tour as he was in the early days on Community and just becoming famous. It was a great show.
You don't have to like his shit, but he's a fucking talented dude.
Loved him in the derrick comedy stuff, loved him on community. As soon as people liked his rap, his whole attitude went from funny dude to opressed douchebag to cool for the room, kinda ruined any appeal he had before.

Community sucked and so did his rap albums but i actually really dug that funk album he put out last year, also his show Atlanta is pretty good.
