It was a direct crossover between "wrestling," and this Tom Cruise story, and Sam immediately switches into Tom is an idiot for doing stunts for a movie. We just heard him talk about play fighting for an hour, where they all do their own stunts, how can he be so hypocritical.

Sam’s grandstanding is completely inauthentic and forced. He has no strong opinions or beliefs but he knows that he’s supposed to because he’s an “entertainer”, so he puts on an act, like the men in tights he admires.

Also, by never growing up obsessing about wrestling, Sam is so steeped in irony and fake drama that he can’t separate from it.
