Joe Rogan is very popular
1 TinKnockinMoroccan 2018-01-19
That's true. But it's also a testament to far Ant has fallen.
1 Sicboy69 2018-01-19
Rogan’s Podcast is always within the top 10 or 20 most popular weekly podcasts on my IPhone Podcasts app. He’s usually one of the only podcasts in that format, all the other ones are news related like NPR or storytelling formats. I personally find him taxing to listen to but his popularity is leaps & bounds ahead of Anthony Cumia’s. I don’t think Ant would break the top 50 even if he offered up his podcast for free.
1 spacefairies 2018-01-19
Anthony just isn't funny on his own. I don't care about his politics or anyone's for that matter. I wanna listen to some funny shit. Not hear about black crime statistics. Even if his show was free I wouldn't listen to it. Sure as hell not paying for that trash.
1 theDiReW0lf 2018-01-19
How anyone is still paying after they jacked up the price for a no-show junkie is astonishing. He's taken no criticism, made no changes, and puts absolutely as little effort as possible. I guess that means there's plenty of retards subbing.
1 Slothjew 2018-01-19
I use a friends account but I literally turn the show off half way through almost 90% of the time when I do listen. That’s longer than I normally make it with J&S, which I also listen to for free, they are sooo fucking boring I probably go about 10-15 min before I have to call it quits.
1 Cumia_Box 2018-01-19
Wait wait wait. You have a real friend who likes O&A? That's rare and scary to me.

You may have meant r/sibhasian13 instead of R/sibhasian13.
Remember, OP may have ninja-edited. I correct subreddit and user links with a capital R or U, which are usually unusable.

The price is nothing really, less than a dollar a day
1 dmix 2018-01-19
You paying $30/month for newspapers is embarrassing enough. Not persuading anyone with that argument.
You can get a goddamn Kindle Oasis for what you waste on paper and it's basically the same, except it's instant delivery and wayyy cheaper. Or a tablet for videos/audio...
1 jewboy408 2018-01-19
I prefer a hard copy at the breakfast table, very traditional. The paperboy is a cutie too.

do you lick your fingers when you turn the pages?
1 lolercakesmcgee 2018-01-19
The NYC studio though.
1 mixand 2018-01-19
someone fucked up and i've been getting the show for free for like a year because it says my account started in 1970
1 dumbshowreference 2018-01-19
That doesn’t mean shit. This isn’t about Anthony or Rogan... but some of the worst music in the world has hundreds of millions if not billions of views and some of the most talented amazing musicians/bands have only thousands. Two and a Half Men and Big Bang Theory were the biggest shows on television for quite a while. How many clicks or views means dick when it comes to content. People are fucking stupid.
1 RapistWithAIDS 2018-01-19
Please name a good band that doesn't get enough views
They don't exist

Okay so your flair says "Listen to KISS" I don't know if I can take your stupid opinions seriously but I’ll bite.
Dispatch. Extremely talented but see very little in terms of views. They have a live version of their biggest song “The General” with less than 5,000 views.
1 Cumia_Box 2018-01-19
I'm sorry but that was not pleasing
1 RapistWithAIDS 2018-01-19
KISS has merit that is undeniable. Grown men who succeeded in their own bands like Pantera, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden still nerd out over KISS like when they were children. That is a demonstration of prowess by definition. How much KISS have you honestly listened to anyway? How much KISStory do you know? Do you know Gene and Paul met because they both spent all their free time listening to the Beatles and practicing writing songs? Do you know about Ace Frehley's original style and influence on guitar playing
I watched a few of Dispatch's videos. I thought it was very mediocre soft hipster emotional rock. If I was him, I would feel lucky to have over 500 views on each video. I see he has one he uploaded last year that has well over 100,000 already. So what's your point exactly? You're just proving me right
Someone like Dispatch is not going to be as famous as a trap rapper because he isn't doing something new and innovative and cutting edge, he is simply coasting in an older genre that has already been explored thoroughly

1 TheRealJayOakerson 2018-01-19
You listen to faggot jew rock.
1 dmix 2018-01-19
This is a dumb argument, there's thousands of good musicians on Soundcloud with a few thousand views max.
The "build it and they will come" bullshit is bullshit. Tons of talented people dont have the heart/skill for self-promotion or are stuck in some shit small town in Canada or just dont give enough of a shit to take it far enough.
That said, I'm convinced Ant is fucking up his chance at getting millions of views on his video by putting everything behind a paywall and not posting enough free content daily. He simply doesn't have enough good content to justify the monthly price either (CRTV costs the same and has 14 hosts, most semi-well known, vs CP's 8 hosts, 90% nobodies, and CRTV still pumps out tons of free content).
1 RapistWithAIDS 2018-01-19
Nobody doesn't listen to an artists music because "they don't have the heart/skill" for self promotion
If you're truly the elite of your genre, nobody would deprive themselves of your music. If you are good, people will listen to you out of pure self interest. The idea that there's bands who are "good" but aren't appreciate is an oxymoron, and a fantasy coping mechanism for shitty bands and the handful of tone deaf people like you who like them and think they're doing something "genius"
Your original post was contradictory and hypocritical, because you said people's tastes don't decide who is talented. But you just said that mainstream musicians aren't good, simply because they aren't your personal taste. You can't deny that maonstream pop, rap and EDM are highly competitive genres and that to succeed in one of them takes much skill, talent and objective merit
1 Zazz_Lacker 2018-01-19
He never said good bands don't get "enough" views you annoying contrarian idiot. You completely missed his point.
1 bignoid 2018-01-19
Apples and Oranges.
Rogan is a guru to millions of dudes under 30, not even seen as funny by most of those guys.
Ant is a has-been angry guy who can be super funny in bursts. The east coast Adam Carolla.
1 TinKnockinMoroccan 2018-01-19
Things weren't always that way. I remember when Joe wasn't even on youtube. He was doing podcasts on ustream or w/e. Ant could have found a decent following if he hadn't screwed up absolutely everything.
1 LarryKleist711 2018-01-19
So you are saying Ant, fucked up? I agree.
1 Christopher_Barton 2018-01-19
So did his dad.
1 DataEast1 2018-01-19
Ant and Adam should do a podcast together. It'll be called "The Doo-Wops".
1 dmix 2018-01-19
Plenty of old O&A videos without celebrities have 500k views.
Ant doesn't need Rogan level numbers but he's basically spinning his wheels in one place and not expanding his base by keeping 99% of the content behind a paywall, having zero good marketing for Compound Media on their website (why would anyone join if you don't know Ant or Artie already?), little free/viral content, etc etc.
Posting free clips/interviews with keywords for popular topics or celebrity names is exactly how Rogan became as big as he is.
1 Zazz_Lacker 2018-01-19
I feel profound pitty for anyone who sees Joe Rogan as a role model.
If you think his show is funny, fine, but he's a font of misinformation and about as stupid as you can possibly be and still walk on two legs.
1 jakdak 2018-01-19
Rogan's show is fine until you realize it is 95% uninformed pot babble.
1 cabaretcabaret 2018-01-19
You need to have a steam of shows in a recognisable format to build views. Not a nameless show behind a paywall with variously titlted videos which come out sporadically after each kerfuffle which occurs on air.
1 sindrone7 2018-01-19
He needs to develop products like Alex Jones does.

I think the reason anthony doesnt want to be more free with his content is he probably sunk quite a lot of his own money into compound media and prefers the slow, steady stream of income from subscriptions instead of risking those proceeds by opening things up when its not even guaranteed they find much of an audience
1 GRINGOxFLAMINGO 2018-01-19
CM should let the Opester take over their YouTube account. He knows how to pump up those numbahs!
1 DeafandMutePenguin 2018-01-19
Ant doesn't need the views. He's not trying to make money on the side selling snake oil.
1 realister 2018-01-19
well they don't post every show on there like Rogan does, also Rogan show is free so its not a fair comparison.
Compound media will make more money from 1 subscriber than Joe will make from thousands of free viewers on youtube.
1 null-character 2018-01-19
Not sure how much this has changed since 2012 but Google provides "Kay likely gets about $7.60 per 1,000 ad views, down from $9.35 in 2012, according to TubeMogul, which buys and sells video ads. Ads are only run on a minority of videos shown. Roughly, a video creator will earn $2,000 for every million views."
Looks like profits are dropping Year-to-Year so the math might be a little off, but 1 million views = 224 monthly subscribers. So if Ant has 10k (monthly) subscribers that would equal 44.64 Million YT views. For a full year it would be 12 times that obviously.
Anyone know how many subscribers they have?
1 DeafandMutePenguin 2018-01-19
His Youtube channel has 56k subs.
1 aRTie02150 2018-01-19
If Ant did his show free on YouTube can you imagine how different this sub would be? I think only me and a few others here actually pay for his garbage and most the time it's not worth reporting on. But if it were free there would be no shortage of funny shit posts regarding the show.
1 brmlb 2018-01-19
hey dumbass, maybe it’s because compound media has their own app for you to watch & listen. they don’t need youtube. libs lie about everything.
1 DeafandMutePenguin 2018-01-19
Also, Joe is a comedian who travels the country and can build a bigger fan base. On top of he's been in movies and on two hit network shows.
Ant was a radio host.
Now let's take an apples to apples comparison. Mike O'Meara had a radio show that moved to a podcast. His youtube has 3k subs while Ant's has 56k. Now Mike's show is very removed from the Don and Mike show but he does have the benefit of his show/podcast has been also been on terrestrial radio in the DC market.
1 BoardroomBimmy 2018-01-19
See, that's because Joe Rogan is a popular host and the last time that Anthony sniffed the taint of fame was when he and Opie were ripping off Stern's material in 2002.
1 Anarox 2018-01-19
To be fair there's hardly any content on cp channel. It's all behind the paywall.
RSS media.
