How badly does Opie regret not trying to keep Ant employed in 2014?
122 2018-01-17 by BigOpie
Deep down, he must have known he wasn’t shit without Ant. “I can do this on my own brotherman. Just pack the room full of “comedians” and sit back then let the dough rollllllll in”. Good job, not only did you ruin the show, you ruined your own career. Nice one, big tittied faggot.

Probably not at all. He still probably thinks Ant got him fired from Sirius somehow.

I thought it was Howard. And Jim. And Roland. And Sam. And the hexagonal psychosexual water buffalo, called Trevor, who lives above Ellises’ kitchen extension.
1 Cawdor 2018-01-17
Nope. Ant has been manipulating the haters for a long time. TRUST ME

It was fawking Howard maaaaan. Ant did way worse things. Like way worse but I'll never tell you cause we aren't close, and they don't exist
1 DryTeeth 2018-01-17
Opie saw it coming in 2014? Sure. Opie Hughes oozed self-awareness.
He was a deluded sociopath.
1 scorezman 2018-01-17
If Opie would have stood up for Ant he would have been fired right Along with Ant. At least Tits was able to get 3 extra years from Sirius that's easily a couple of million.
1 VanishingKurtMetzger 2018-01-17
If I was Opie, I would be pissed at Ant about fucking the whole thing up because he couldn’t stop hating black people. Instead, they’re mad about how one of them didn’t say hello to some whore the other was dating in 1997

No regrets brotherman.

Opie genuinely has mental illness he will undoubtedly pass onto his children and ruin their lives and futures.
Also, anyone else find it annoying when cocksucker Greg would shit on anyone born into a rich family? As if they could help it? But then he puts his little waterheads into private school? Nothing worse than a hypocrite with big saggy tits.
2 xactraiserx 2018-01-17
Those kids are not going to be on that private school for long, both of their parents are unenployable dipshits.
The quality of life will slowly start going down, and they will resent every shitty moment of it knowing their dad threw a million dollar deal down the toilet.
So thats something opie has to look forward to.
2 ArtiesCorpse 2018-01-17
Don't bring Bam into this please, they know he has a substance abuse problem.
1 Andkcojskaosncicoanw 2018-01-17
His children's father is about to die of alchohol, so atleast he can look forward to one less dude fucking his wife
1 ObsessiveMuso 2018-01-17
No Roland was dropping things in toilets, The Opester was trying to make it go fahkin' viral.
1 grocery_man 2018-01-17
I'm sure Bam will help out.
1 loperetti 2018-01-17
Do you realize how embarrassing it is to bring a packed lunch to a ski trip or sailing voyage?
Opie was brought up on the streets, but raised by his parents.
1 StuntPeckah 2018-01-17
He keeps it real!
1 PeeSoup3030 2018-01-17
Opie why ain't you wear a rubba B?

I been through hell, I been through back, PURIOD.
1 StuntPeckah 2018-01-17
Opie really should quote his wife more. Sometimes it's the perfect way to end a great show!
1 crookedmile 2018-01-17
Always, ALWAYS keep it real

1 ObsessiveMuso 2018-01-17
He fahkin' haaaaated the rich kids.
1 Icon_Crash 2018-01-17
Hey, management was loving the direction of the show. It was that FAWKIN Stern and that RAT Roland.

1 DeafandMutePenguin 2018-01-17
Opie why did the show with Ant end? Opie: Because Ant was against me.
And the show with Jim? Opie: Because Jimmy was against me.
And your own show? Opie: Because Howard and Management were against me.
1 Monster_Dong 2018-01-17
None of the guys know radio like the Opster.
1 WhiskeynPeanutbutter 2018-01-17
I'm sorry, as much as i hate Opie I'm not going to act like Anthony wouldn't be doing a lot better had he not been fired and just let Opie steer the ship. As bad as Opie's downfall has been its not nearly as embarrassing as Ant losing his gun, faking his sobriety to his concerned friends, beating a child, and fake laughing while his junkie of a co-host dozes off on air.
2 StuntPeckah 2018-01-17
...abandoning his mom for five years, losing his driver's license and his gun permit, letting Keith dump his money into billboards and chase away the talent...
1 WhiskeynPeanutbutter 2018-01-17
chasing away potential guests with his racism, doxing, giving Red Bar exposure, letting the Legion of Skanks go....
1 VicDumb 2018-01-17
And losing Gavin.
1 StuntPeckah 2018-01-17
Yeah, that's pretty bad.
1 Uboat1940 2018-01-17
I recall in the early days of The Opie and Jim Show, Opie said he finally doing the radio he wanted to do. He seemed so pleased with the new direction.
1 PretzlKing 2018-01-17
He also said that in the early days of the OpieRadio Afternoon FunZoo. I bet he has also said it recently on one of his popup shows at Burger King.
I think that, deep down, maybe subconsciously, he knows his best days are almost twenty years in the past.
1 Andkcojskaosncicoanw 2018-01-17
Pretty sure Opie says that when he knows everyone listening is not pleased with the show or direction
1 aTwinkForFez 2018-01-17
who ?
1 realister 2018-01-17
I needed you that day
1 semihat 2018-01-17
Up to the very end, the show was still good and Opie was coasting, making millions for doing hardly anything but hiding behind Anthony. He was still liked well enough by most listeners because he wasn't seriously called out for his behavior at the point. But in his head, he was thinking of how to break up the show everyday regardless. So he probably doesn't regret anything.
1 Skivsamlaren 2018-01-17
Was the show really good in the end? Hadn't Anthony been constantly screaming about blacks, Obama and guns for quite some time at that point?
1 Spokker 2018-01-17
Sometimes they watched TV.
1 VicDumb 2018-01-17
Don't forget about the hour-long apology clock segment they would do every fucking day.
1 BoardroomBimmy 2018-01-17
At least Anthony isn't upset about it. Why would he be? Hahaha he's making more money now than he was at Sirius XM and hahaha he's having the time of his life hahaha why would he mind?! HAHAHA
1 theDiReW0lf 2018-01-17
Haha holeee shiit!
0 DeafandMutePenguin 2018-01-17
He can't get fired.
1 OpieApologist 2018-01-17
Not at all, I'd bet. Crazy how much better the show got once the dead weight was dropped.
1 DaveNone 2018-01-17
He doesn't regret it because he genuinely thinks he was a major reason for their success and thinks he is as funny as Anthony and Jimmy ever were. No matter how hard the truth hits him in the head he refuses to acknowledge that he would have been at best a top 10 afternoon drive time DJ in some small city somewhere far from the lights of NYC without Anthony having come along. And by top 10 I mean #10 and probably only in one demographic at most. "Yeah guys we're #1 again!! Whooooo 'cowbells ring, bells and whistles play' In the all important men 65 to death category!!!"
1 Spokker 2018-01-17
Well none of them are funny anymore so it all worked out in the end.
1 3stepsbackward 2018-01-17
Opie still probably thinks he's the star of the show.
1 TalkAboutWrestling 2018-01-17
Well his name was first in the billing.
1 CommodorePawsey 2018-01-17
They should all regret, all three of them, that they weren’t man enough to work out their goddamn stupid petty differences and stay together. Not a single one of them has been all that successful since the split. Chip Chipperson (for fuck’s sake) has been the most successful of the group. I know, I know Opie sucks, but he at least kept them in the vicinity of funny, maybe it was the topics he chose, or the fact that he chose topics at all that weren’t always race or trannies, or tasks or games or videos or whatever they did that day, things were chosen that lead to funny breaks. Opie and Anthony show clips on YouTube are better than anything of them do now. I would bet money that SXM could run old clips and have a larger audience than Jim and Sam. It took me a fraction of a second to think of one example. The clip from Happy Days towards the end of their run. How simple is that? It was a clip someone brought to the show that was ridiculous, they turned it into comedy gold, we can say that hope you had nothing to do with it but they don’t do shit even that simple anymore on any of the shows. This isn’t rocket science. Jesus, Jim, watch a YouTube video every now and then, something you can make fun of. Anything. Just do something. None of them do anything. No interesting topics, subject matter that goes nowhere, banal banal banal. These three stupid motherfuckers had any sense whatsoever, they would have either sucked it up and worked it out, or put up into intense therapy until he was tolerable, anything. Dumb fuckers. So when the split happened, they didn’t fight to keep it together, because they didn’t want to. None of them did. Let’s not pretend it’s just stupid tits fault. Stupid dumb motherfuckers
1 TakesTheWrongSideGuy 2018-01-17
I mean I hate Opie but Opie has a genuine reason to be pissed at Anthony over those tweets and the constant race rants and stupid shit he would say. I remember listening to the show from 12'-14' and Anthony would rant about race the entire show during this time and I knew his demise was close especially when people like Ronnie B were saying management was over it anyway.

1 onemancrimespree 2018-01-17
Whenever Op faced a challenge he would go on air and repeat "trying to figure this shit out!!!" over and over, I pictured him squinting and scratching his head and ultimately doing absolutely nothing and just accepting the shitty consequences because she should have been grateful to have a career in entertainment at all.
1 I-ruin-subreddits 2018-01-17
I don’t think you understand how sociopaths work. Im pretty sure he really did think he could be just as successful as he was with Ant.
1 PretzlKing 2018-01-17
