The Media Fawning Over Patton
0 2017-12-26 by Not_My_Real_Acct_
Is anyone else irritated by the media fawning over Patton Oswalt? I know we joke about him murdering his wife. Even if he didn't, there's no good reason to give him accolades for getting married, people do it all the time. There's nothing exceptional about this.
To me, the fawning seems to indicate that the media is awarding Patton for having the "correct" opinions.
"After the sudden death of his wife, Michelle McNamara, in April 2016, comedian Patton Oswalt felt himself falling apart. He began drinking and eating bad food and he struggled with insomnia.
"I was beginning to kind of kiss the edge during those months," he says. "I felt like I was fading out of the world ... just sort of treating myself like I had already died."
But Oswalt also knew that he had to pull himself together — if not for his own sake, then for the sake of his young daughter, Alice. He turned to the one place where he could express his grief in a constructive manner: the stage."

He's a perfect comedian for the mainstream media. He seems like he's being edgy and controversial but in reality he's reciting the liberal agenda word for word.

I hate the fact that because Trump won, these faggots can consider themselves contrarian and edgy again, even though the entire cultural establishment is massively slanted in their favor. Fuck that midget wife killer and fuck anyone who likes him.

i saw patton on one of those 30 minute comedy central specials years ago and his closing joke was something about being in amsterdam smoking a joint and queen started playing in the coffee house he was at. the punchline being this is the most perfect moment ever. i wrote him off a dweeby garden gnome. I never would’ve guessed a guy who’s standup sounds like a coworkers boring summary of their trip to disney land would be so successful. Now I find myself wondering which song was playing in his head as he murdered his wife and got away with it, his second perfect moment.

"I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose Twitter followers." - Patton Oswalt

He could have gone a couple of hours in any direction and he'd have experienced history and scenery you could never find in America, but he went with hearing a Queen song while smoking a joint as his most perfect moment? Something that could have literally happened anywhere.

Great observation. When I was in the Netherlands I took a field trip to go visit a bike store. I couldn't interest my family in tagging along, so I went solo. It wound up being my favorite part of the whole trip, just wandering around some random city in the Netherlands by myself. Basically doing the furthest thing from being a tourist.

Poor guy, must have been a tough couple of hours grieving before he found his new slit.

He began eating bad food after his wife died? Was he previously just retaining water?

His "correct" opinion was not killing himself because he has a small child to take care of? Man the sjws are out of fucking control, huh?
