While Louis was spending a minute thinking and waiting to make the room fall over with a punchline, Opie was flustered for a minute waiting to go to some caller nobody remembers.
I've heard this exact clip probably 20 times now and I've never noticed Louie at the start saying "Am I hearing the ocean?" because Tits has some trucker's phone call "potted up" to 100. Thank God he didn't manage to get to that caller when he wanted to.
my favorite part is he has these terrible habits that objectively ruin the flow of the show, and he’s not even good at them. they’re not just out of place, he’s bad at taking calls. if you listen to ron and fez you’ll hear good callers being given a platform to make good calls. opie would take worthless callers, then talk over them immediately after cuing them to speak, then huff and puff while they talk like they’re interrupting him. he’ll give the guy 2 seconds to make his case then continue to talk over or insult him like he wasn’t the one who went to the call in the first place.

Dude, you broke up the flow of the show, purposely took a call that you knew would not work, and then berated him. I'm not sure the caller can be blamed to that point.
It’s unbelivable how bad he is in hindsight. You have a room full of amazing comics in their prime. They could have riffed on this for another 5 minutes. But this no talent bitch only has one trick up his sleeve and that’s his contribution to the conversation

The clip is so short and perfect. Could you imagine this on the AA show? This one spontaneously improved moment laughed about and never moved on from...
Instead of this iconic 2 minute clip, you get 15 minutes of a perfect line followed by dwindling references to the 70s...don't get me wrong, I hate that mutherhucker but he has sooooo much worse

It's probably the funniest Louis joke ever and Opie still has to make it about him. God this guy ruined a lot of great comedy
