Do you think Jim and his stand up elites refer to people as “civilians” when talking to a soldier?

bob kelly only refers to non-comedians as "civilians"

Thanks man I didn’t even put that much thought into it

I have several friends in the military, active and not, that have never used the word civilian around me whereas these comedians can't go 5 minutes without bringing it up.

Soldiers actually look forward to becoming civilians again.

I can imagine it would be nice to call your own shots after a while in the service.

When I was in I only used the term to refer to non combatants in Iraq.
Comedians who use the term deserve the same fate as those civilians .

I don't like how you say "soldier" with such cuckolded reverence

Rich Vos lives in a condo in NJ. I bought my first house, in a better neighborhood, without stepping on a stage at age 25.
When Patrice died Norton said how awful it would be to not be able to speak, be trapped, etc. One response was "especially for a comic!" I'm pretty sure all of us civilians like to speak and move to dumb ass.
They all want to think they're on some different level. Using civilian does that for them.
Just shut up and make us laugh.

I don't think it's offense. It's just a cornball statement to make. Rich Vos lives in a condo in NJ. I bought my first house, in a better neighborhood, without stepping on a stage at age 25.

So? Comedy isn't the career people go to if their priority is immediate financial success.

I’d shove a fucking m4 butt stock right up his ass if he tried this bullshit
1 turdthief2 2017-12-01
I would buttstroke Jim with my M4 if I ever saw him do that on a USO tour

My ears bleed when Joe Rogan starts talking about how civilians just don’t understand the writing process that goes into comedy. He turns into the angst filled loser he’s always mocking maaaaaaaaaannnnnnn.
1 cultofcopenality 2017-12-01
No comics will ever call Joe out for how unfunny he is with his huge platform. Greg Fitzsimmons is absolutely hilarious and really sharp. He has to know that Rogan is a complete dud as a comic. They spend two hours discussing the Boston comedy scene every time he comes on his podcast. In terms of stand up, Rogan and Norton are kind of similar. Both depend on their radio fans to sell tickets. Both do topical comedy that fucking stinks and wouldn’t hold up for two years even if it was funny. Both mug for the camera.

Yea. I like Joe's podcast but its usually because of the guest he has on. His standup isn't bad but I wouldn't put him in the top tier of comedians.
