Is it weird that I'm against gun control specifically because it makes movies and TV shows lame?

I've tried to watch these UK crime shows and I'm immediately taken out of the action because nobody has any guns. The stakes are so much lower when you cant kill somebody with a gun. Imagine a movie like John Wick without guns. It doesn't work. I'm okay with a few people dying everyday because of gun violence if we can keep having entertaining action movies.
