It's definitely worth watching once since there are some great scenes in it and one truly great episode. Just don't expect it to be anywhere near as good as season 1.

Alright so I binge watched the shit out of this in 1 night last week. I'm hearing S2 isn't as good, but should I still watch it?

The second season will leave you let down and pissed off. Don't do it!

True Detective for those who are confused. I loved season 1. Couldn't get into season 2 but I might give it another go.

What? I really liked Season 2. It wasn't very good writing but I loved the characters (Vince Vaughn) and the setting (the corrupt industrial city).

Characters were alright, but the conspiracy they were uncovering was the least gripping "mystery" I've ever witnessed on television.

Pretend season 2 doesn't exist. Season 1 is a masterpiece.

Episodes 6 and 7 were great. Everything else was a let-down, especially the finale.

Season 2 is as good as season 1, minus the Matthew Connolly "psychosphere" pontificating.

S2 has its moments, but it’s no S1.
