Opie will try to plant a story about how they begged him to take the job and offered more than Howard but he turned it down because it just wasn't the right fit for a man of his skill set.
The trio they picked to replace Big Mike sounds like garbage... Of course they had to go and put a hole on the team... fucking boo. I was hoping either they move Joe Beningno and Evan to the spot. Or they just move Benigno to Mikes spot and have him go at it solo or build a new team/show around him and throw Evan onto Boomers show. Line up would be Boomer and evan in the morning, a new show in the middle, then a benigno centric show in mikes slot.
The trio they picked for mikes slot doesn't have the slightest chance of beating the Michael Kay show in ratings. It will fail. The best shot WFAN has to try to keep it closer is putting Benigno there. He's a through and through New Yorker just like Francesa, passionate like francesa and NY would support him if they surrounded him with the right people.
I'm going to miss Francesa. Aside from O&A(#1) I have listened to more Francesa(#2) than evrything else combined.
HATE IT! All they had to do was pair Kim Jones with Joe for the midway and move Evan up to afternoon drive with Chris Christie or Chris Simms. All would have been well. Just watch the sponsors drop.
